”Ooh,” Rapunzel clasped a hand to the side of her face, her palm and fingers cupping the curve of her pale cheek. With large sympathetic eyes she watched as the boy demanded justice from the small monkey and scolded him until he subsided. She maintained a somewhat worried small smile, before watching them resolve their differences after he’d taken some form of responsibility. Rapunzel would have been happy to spoil the thing, but something told her it wouldn’t go overly appreciated if she boosted his mischievous behaviour. She turned her gaze sharply back to Melody as she offered to help him find said Snuggly Duckling, and nodded abruptly.
”Yes!” she chimed, ”One’s not too far, actually, and there’s always interesting people in them, with some interesting things.. I feel like your monkey friend might like that.” she added, crouching with her knees together as her skirt draped over her ankles to pick up some of the sweet debris from the… Well. Accident. The monkey seemed like a harmless pickpocket, a troublemaker. Rapunzel was familiar with the type, as she thought back to Eugene briefly. A man in service of Arendelle had arrived with a shovel and a bucket intended for cleaning other properties around the castle and city, allowing Rapunzel to drop the pastry remains she’d gathered into it while he began elsewhere gathering some remains. A kind little man with a rather impressive mustache that had grayed in most areas, the rest was a faint ginger hue. She thanked him, and he smiled appreciatively with rosy round cheeks.
”Oh!” Rapunzel gave a start, her hand resting over her chest as if to still her heart as she registered the small form behind the young man. Curiously, Rapunzel leaned forward to get a better look, a quirk of her brow as she uttered a soft, ‘ooh’ past parted lips. She quizzically allowed Melody to inspect it, learning from her waving and prodding as well before deciding it was fantastic and biting her lip to keep from breaking into a full on grin.
”His name is Carpet?” she asked, a little in disbelief as she squinted and turned a slightly questioning gaze to the young man. ”Did you name him that? How come he isn’t named ‘Monkey’?” Rapunzel asked, leaning far more towards harmless and friendly teasing than anything else. Her expression wavered slightly as she caught Melody eagerly asking if they could ride it. It wasn’t as if she was opposed, he seemed rather nice and most people in Arendelle or with business in Arendelle these days were friendly and safe.
With a slight gnaw of anxiousness Rapunzel pulled her neatly braided hair over her shoulder, a slight quirk of worry on her brow as she briefly imagined the adventure. What if her braid came undone and there was seventy feet of magically imbued silken gold hair streaming in the sky above Arendelle? Rapunzel sucked the corner of her lower lip into her mouth considering it. Maybe it wouldn’t be a problem, he could easily refuse the ride for one reason or another.
