His scraggly mane matches his father's color, though it lacks in prestige, with a small tuft of a goatee resting on his chin. His coat borders more on the color of mud or dirt, rather than polished rock or savanna grass. His eyes are a piercing bright red. the personality overall personality • Young, scrappy, and hungry -- in all senses. Nuka is the oldest of his siblings, yet feels -- nay, knows -- he has to work twice as hard as them to prove he's worth something. Envy drives the lion, as does personal pride. He has the tendency to be impulsive and emotionally driven, letting his feelings control him much more than a majority of the pride. Nuka craves the attention of his parents like nothing else, despite their tenuous relationships. Sarcasm fuels his speech and thoughts; bitterness fuels his actions. Some day, the Thorns will understand that he, too, is destined for greatness. the history overall history • Ever since the beginning, Nuka was broken. Born as the eldest to Scar and Zira, Nuka had always felt he was destined for greatness. His rash behavior and emotionally-driven core, however, led Scar to perceive the cub as foolish and immature -- unfit behavior for an heir. Whenever Scar was especially harsh on him, he sought comfort in Zira. This grew to a constant craving her attention, but his desires went increasingly unfulfilled as time went on. When Kovu and Vitani were brought to the pride, all hope he could have had for getting what he wanted from his parents dwindled. The harshest stab in the back came when Kovu -- a strange, orphan lion -- was selected as heir to the pride. This decision effectively cemented Nuka's bitterness towards his siblings, with special resentment regarding the 'little termite.' By and large, Nuka fends for himself. He's lashed out a few times towards his siblings -- Kovu in particular -- often letting envy drive his actions towards him. Having to watch over the pair is an activity he detests, and subsequently pays little mind towards. But even though life has dealt him a losing hand, Nuka hasn't given up yet. What he lacks in brawn... and brain... and looks... he more than makes up for in determination and drive. He knows he has potential.
