[Feb 10, around five in the late afternoon, closed to Janja]
Star had to work that day. The Thorns were having him pull their silly supplies around on a sled. Of course they didn't trust him enough to go alone and sent a trusted high ranked Thorn to accompany him. Said Thorn watched him like a hawk the whole time making the poor husky a nervous wreck. They made sure Star didn't try anything funny not that he would ever do anything that might betray his Thorn masters. Okay, so maybe he would if ever given the chance, but only if he knew he could get away with it and right now with so many Thorns watching him, he didn't think he could.
The supplies were loaded onto a large sled from the Black Keep to which he then delivered to the Cursed Thorn army that occupied Paris, formerly a French city now under Maleficent's rule. Perhaps once upon a time the Parisian streets were a place of happiness and laughter, but not anymore. Not since Maleficent's evil army took it over. Now it's a just place of misery and despair; a mere shadow of its former self. Star felt really bad for its people, but he couldn't do anything about it. He was just as much of a victim as they were or in the very least that was how he largely felt on the matter.
After he had finished delivering supplies to Maleficent's army, Star returned to the Black Keep with a now empty sled. The next task they had him do was help the castle maids with the cleaning not that he was ever much help since he lacked opposable thumbs. Still orders were orders even if they were dumb ones that made absolutely no sense. The dog tried questioning this, but the ones giving him the orders were the castle's goblins and they weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed nor were they very reasonable. The husky felt certain there was a mixup somewhere since he was never asked to clean anything before because hey no thumbs. And if there were a mixup Star absolutely refused to be blamed and punished for following the wrong orders.
But for now, Star did what he could with a duster in his mouth. He was busy dusting a large room; which quickly set off his allergies causing him to sneeze loudly causing the guard watching him to also sneeze. Wanting nothing more than to get out of there, Star thought up a rather clever plan to sneak away. Opening up his mouth he casually started up a conversation with his guard. First Star mentions how nice the weather's been; which then led to him informing his guard how cold his hometown of Nome is and that he misses it and his friends that resided there and how he hopes to find them. This then somehow leads to the both of them laughing and talking smack about their superiors. Had someone walked in on them they might have thought them drunk.
Now this is when things really get interesting. There was an old yet wise dog that resided in Nome called, Doc who liked to talk...a lot. The old dog had the tendency to go on and on not knowing when to shut up. In fact, Star remembered this particular story that Doc liked to tell the other dogs. Sure if you are hearing it for the very first time it is admittedly a pretty good story, but the main problem was Doc liked to tell the same exact story all the time. It drove Star and all the other dogs nuts. Another problem with Doc's story was just how long and boring it was. Star and his friends could never get away fast enough. The husky had heard Doc's tale so many times he had just about every single word memorized.
Grinning slyly at his guard, Star began to recite the old dog's tale word for word. The tale was a fictitious story about a group of explorers getting lost in a blizzard. As expected as soon as Star hit the boring bits his guard's eyes became droopy and eventually he dozed off. Star made double certain his guard was indeed asleep by waving his paw repeatedly in his face. When the guard only snored in reply, Star was satisfied and relieved. Never before had the husky been so relieved to have such a seemingly useless story memorized until now. Slowly and cautiously, Star crept away and out of the room.
Stealthily, he soon made his way out of the castle dodging guards and other wandering Thorns along the way. He knew he was going to get in so much trouble for this, but he just had to get out of there! He had to get away. He needed time to himself to think and gather his thought; preferably a quiet place far from the other Thorns as humanly possible. But it was going to be awhile before he could get off Thorn turf. First he had to tread his way through the wilds of the Indian jungle. 'Oh this is going to be fun,' thought Star sarcastically. 'Not.' Star was wearing his purple bandanna with the Thorns logo on it; which was probably for the best since he was after all in Thorn territory and one just never knows just who one might run into way out here.
As he made his way through he knew he had to be careful out there since the jungle wasn't exactly...safe. It was full of dangerous animals; some of which Star knew only all too well would might want to eat him. So he had that to worry about. Plus he had to worry about possibly bumping into a high ranking Thorn since this was part of their territory. Every so often, Star nervously looked behind him to make sure he wasn't being followed by anyone before continuing on. The little husky was an observant sort or at least he liked to think he was. In fact, every time he heard the slightest sound he would jump several feet into the air and turn around nervously shouting, "WHO'S THERE!?" Upon seeing nothing behind him he laughed nervously before continuing on.
As he made his way though the god forbidden jungle, the small husky felt his tummy begin to grumble and here was in the middle of the jungle with no food! He knew he should have stolen something from the kitchens before running off, but then again he hadn't planned on being gone for long. He was already going to be in more than enough trouble for this. He didn't want to get into anymore for staying away longer. Feeling his hunger begin to rise, Star saw this as his cue to hunt for his own food, the way the wolves did. Luckily for the small husky he smelled rabbit nearby. Dropping to a hunter's stance, Star crept close to the ground and stealthily followed the rabbit's scent. The husky soon spotted his quarry sitting upon a log near a pond. Star knew just what to do. Holding his breath, Star was just about to pounce onto the rabbit only for a nearby loud sound to scare his prey off. 'Damn it,' thought Star, disappointed. Suddenly too hungry to care about what was making the sound, Star desperately took off running after the rabbit yelling, "NOOOO! COME BACK HERE!"
ooc: @janja I hope that is a good date for you. If not let me know what date to change it to. Also let me know if you want to open this. I just left it closed to us for now.
