[Feb 7th, closed to Marinbad! I am so sorry about the title]
There was nothing like a good party. The food, the drinks, the games; Kaia adored it all. However, even she had to admit, the lights and atmosphere of the Rainbow Festival truly was spectacular. She had never seen so much colour before in her life- and it reflected in the way her violet eyes surveyed the festival grounds, childlike glee radiating from her. In both of her homes, old and new, there really wasn’t much time to relax and indulge in parties. There was always something to do, and so whatever was thrown was often few and very far between. Unsurprisingly, the rogue was taken aback upon being informed that this was a common occurrence, followed by a small sting of jealousy.
So was it really any wonder that Kaia took advantage of the opportunity presented before her? To relax, and let the relaxed energy of the festival wash over her for the night before tomorrow would arrive.
It was partially why Kaia had arrived much later, with the sun having long since set and the stars peeking out from the inky stretch of the night sky. Why come earlier and not see the lanterns in their full glory, after all? And not to mention, indulge in the festivities while it was a little less hectic.
She had ditched her usual armour for something much lighter and cooler, the weather had been much warmer than she anticipated, baring her shoulders and midriff. Plus, if she was going to dance it was only natural Kaia would want to be as mobile as possible. Her usual war paint had been scrubbed off, in favour of something “less intimidating”- that being black dots of kohl around her eyes and onto her nose, trailing down to her lips. But other than that, her hair was tied up in a series of braids, loose strands falling into her eyes. It was quite a sight, she mused, noticing how the younger participants noticed the lone rogue wandering around the stalls.
And speaking of...
She didn’t blame Gypsy for leaving. The albino nadder had disappeared after Kaia had found an inn for the night, slipping away into the darkness. Gypsy was a stray: to claim she was tamed, or even trained, was laughable at best. So, she came and went as she pleased. Kaia wouldn’t force her to stay at her sides constantly, it felt wrong to restrict a wild animal like that. So, they developed an understanding; find a meeting place and show up when the other party said to.
But still, it didn’t really alleviate Kaia’s loneliness. Nor did it help that she was in the middle of an unfamiliar city. Softly, she sighed; wishing that someone she knew was also in attendance… Only to walk straight into someone at that very moment. Cursing at her distractedness under her breath, Kaia stepped away from the other figure and pulled them up. “Sorry, sorry, didn’t mean ta bump inta-” Violet eyes suddenly brightened in realisation and a wide impish grin appeared on her lips. She had bumped into one of the pirates from the Snugly Duckling.
“Didn’t expect ya ta be here of all places.” Kaia teased: excited, curious and relieved to see them in Arendelle of all places. She would’ve thought they would be back on the high seas by now. “Or are ya tradin’ your sea legs in for land ones, hmm?”
