Azaad was speechless and that was a rare occurrence.
His ears flattened as he walked along the cobblestone streets, thinking about what he'd just witnessed when he took a speedy, short trip to what was once the pridelands. He had looked off at the briny, tangled coils of spines and spikes, choking the land as if it was a boa constrictor. He had had to see it for himself, he'd said, he needed to see what the fuss was about. What this war was about. And there it was. Dead, pressing on what little life was surviving. The land was dust at his feet, poison caked in the air. He'd turned tail and run back to the cool blue skies of Arendale and what he'd started to grow used to when his home was not home any longer.
Long legs carried him through the streets, watching as people danced and sang, chatted and stole. It brought the flame back to his heart and a smile back to his face. He wasn't a part of this silly war so he didn't have to think about the Pridelands any longer.
However with his head down and his heart choked with concern he didn't realize he had gotten lost. He sniffed the air but this wasn't like his land where scents stuck out like sore thumbs when they were unfamiliar. He turned a corner, thinking he had found his way back to the main street. But a stone wall met his face instead of a clear path.
"Great," he huffed, sitting back on his haunches and deciding to think before he moved again.
