Usually she wears her hair up in neat curls to reveal her pretty face. In the middle between childhood and adulthood, Wendy still retains much of her childish appearance but is also starting to exhibit the physical features of a young woman. the personality overall personality • Typical girls in Wendy's time were brought up to behave as prim and proper in the stiff Edwardian society. From a young age, Wendy knew a great deal about responsibility and setting an excellent example for her brothers, and she liked being in control. She was the most behaved of the children, and Wendy's parents knew they could count on her to keep them under control. Despite being somewhat bossy, she is also very gentle and nurturing toward her brothers, and will frequently let down her controlling side to engage in their silly games. Wendy's favorite time of day is when she can escape from the boring, real world and immerse herself into a new adventure. She's a frequent day-dreamer and fantasy fanatic, and often that causes her to clash with her overly practical father. Wendy is also the jealous type, and it's something she cannot hide. Being only a young teenager, Wendy lets her negative emotions take control. But most of the time, she is very level-headed, and has a good intuition for "the right thing to do", which enables her to make practical decisions for her and her brothers. the history overall history • Born Wendy Moira Angela Darling, she was the first child and only daughter of the middle class Darling family who lived in the Bloomsbury district of West London. Two brothers followed her birth, and they became known as the Darling children. Caring for the three children took a toll on the well-being of Mrs. Darling, the stay at home mother, that they started to employ the family dog Nana as their nursemaid. Being the eldest meant that at a young age, Wendy had to start looking after her younger brothers, who were more rowdy and prone to trouble than she was. Yet, most of the time she took part in the games they played, most of which were inspired by their favorite hero, Peter Pan. Wendy was an expert on all things Peter Pan. The three of them would gather in the nursery and listen to Mrs. Darling tell vivid stories of Peter's adventures in Neverland, as if she was actually there. They were so vivid that Wendy developed an unshakable belief that he was real, and if she left her window open at night, maybe he would come see her. One night, while the children were asleep in the nursery, unknown to Wendy, Peter had dropped into the nursery. Startling Nana, the dog ran from her dog house and tried to shoo Peter away, inadvertently biting onto his shadow and tearing it off. The commotion woke Wendy up, but Peter was gone by the time she could gaze out the window and look for him. Seeing the shadow writhing in Nana's mouth, Wendy took the shadow away and locked it away safely in her drawer, and hoped that one day Peter would return for it. She only told her brothers and her mother about the shadow, but the latter seemed very skeptical about her claim. Shortly before she was to turn 14, a fiasco that befell the nursery prompted Mr. Darling to declare that it was time Wendy move out of the nursery into a room of her own. Startled by this decision, Wendy unwillingly obliged, but confessed to her mother she was not ready to accept this next step, which was symbolic of her transitioning into adulthood. It indicated she'd spend less time with her brothers, and more time in the company of older women who would educate her on how to be a proper lady of Edwardian society. Fortunately that night, Peter did return. At the time she woke up, Wendy found Peter had recovered the shadow, but struggled to attach it back on. Wendy quickly deduced that sewing ought to do the work, and she carefully rejoined Peter to his shadow. After confessing to Peter that she had to leave childhood behind, Peter offered to take her. So excited was she, she offered to show Peter what a kiss was, but she was stopped by Tinker Bell before she could do so. This caused her brothers to wake up, who were overjoyed to see their hero had arrived. Wanting her brothers join, Wendy convinced Peter to bring them along to Neverland. Using Tinker Bell's pixie dust, Wendy thought about the mermaids in Mermaid Lagoon as her happy thought that gave her the ability to fly. Expecting a fun adventure ahead of them, their short time in Neverland was anything but. Shortly after she arrived, Tinker Bell had ordered the Lost Boys to shoot down the Wendy bird, but luckily Peter caught her in time before she could have met her demise. After Tinker Bell was banished for her crime, the team split up: John and Michael went with the Lost Boys to look for the Native's camp, while Peter and Wendy went to visit the mermaids, the ones Wendy was so looking forward to. But Wendy was in for a real startle, as the mermaids proved to be vicious creatures intent on drowning Wendy. Suddenly, Wendy's happy thought ended up being one of her most terrifying nightmares. And the journey only just became more dangerous from there... Wendy accompanied Peter to rescue Tiger Lily, the princess of the Neverland Natives, who was being held hostage by Hook, who used the princess as a trap to lure Peter. As a bystander, Wendy watched as Peter used deceit and battle skills to defeat Hook, thus rescuing the princess who nearly drowned during the battle. By this time Wendy's feelings for Peter Pan grew stronger, and she began to grow jealous over his new found attention for Tiger Lily. The Darling children were invited to celebrate the rescue of Tiger Lily at the Native camp. During the celebration, Wendy witnessed the princess kiss Peter, ensuing a impenetrable jealousy in Wendy, which caused her attitude to shift dramatically. After seeing the kiss, she was appalled to see the drastic change in behaviors in John and Michael. They were behaving like the savage Natives, and seemed to forget that they were once civilized boys before they arrived in Neverland. What was even more appalling was that her brothers had completely forgotten who their parents were. Wanting to go back to her old life back in London, and not wanting her brothers to live out the rest of their lives with no one to look after them, Wendy declared as their eldest sister that they needed to go home, to be with their parents. Drawn to the idea of having a real mother, the Lost Boys wanted to come along too, which thrilled Wendy. Wendy was even tempted to ask Peter to come along with them, but knew he would decline the offer, and so she decided not to. Before they could leave, Wendy and the boys were shang-haied by the pirates. Just as they had done to Tiger Lily, the children were used as bait to get lure Peter to them. Meanwhile, the pirates tried to convince the boys to join their crew. Easily persuaded, the boys would have taken up the offer if Wendy hadn't stepped in and scolded them. Believing Peter to be dead, after Hook told them he had laid a cruel trap for Peter, Wendy was ready to accept walking the plank rather than join Hook's crew. Luckily, the hero she believed to be dead was actually alive, and he had rescued her again. The return of Peter ensued another battle on the ship, and the children helped in holding off some of the pirates from getting too close to them. With Peter able to defeat Hook single handedly, the children were free, and Peter offered to take them back to London. Shortly after she returned to London, Wendy moved into a room of her own, and gradually accepted the changes it brought. Their adventure seemingly over, Wendy hoped Peter would visit again, if he could remember to, and she still kept her window open at night. Suddenly, the clashing of the worlds brought strange, unexplainable changes to London. No longer did humans just roam the streets, but so did talking animals, humans with god-like powers, and mythical creatures. There was talk about a war ensuing, and the residents of London were warned to be prepared. Some were invited or voluntarily decided to join the fight along the Suns. For now, Wendy has decided her place is to stay in London, where she could guarantee her family was safe. However, if given the opportunity to be invited to join a heroic cause, it may just intrigue Wendy to embark on her next dangerous adventure. In the meantime, she can't help but wander and explore these new lands, places she has read so much about in her books about fantasy, so long as she isn't too far from home. the Role play sample Wendy Darling had never rowed a boat before, but suddenly the urge to ride one immediately drew her to the lakes. She had seen the Neverland pirates row their own, but she never needed one, since she had pixie dust with her! But that pixie dust had long been washed out, as expected. Either way, Peter would have forbid her from rowing her own boat; he was her protector. She paid a fine for permission to take one of the wooden boats. She knocked on the hard, sturdy wood, just to make sure it wasn't viable to any destruction. Young Wendy was not acquainted with the lakes. There were no stories of any horrible incidents or encounters. The girl in blue settled in her boat. Yes, she was venturing out into the lakes. But Wendy was very brave for only twelve. She could face anything. She had to protect her siblings from strange adversities. She had to watch nearly a dozen little boys when their leader could not give them the attention they wanted! Besides, the winds and rains had left... nothing should interrupt a short adventure. Wild ducks were quacking! as they glided over the waters. Some of them beamed at the charming girl in blue. "Beautiful day, is it not?" she asked a white baby duck. Even the most red of fish swam beneath the surface, all traveling in a school. Three orange baby fish were following their mother. Wendy sighed at this picture until they four were no more. The boat was big enough for three more people. Today would have been the perfect outing for Mrs. Darling, John and Michael. Mr. Darling, on the other hand, did not have time to enjoy such beautiful outings; he would have declined. Wendy had been so lost among her thoughts, she did not realize she couldn't see the sun anymore. Everything grew dark! She had rowed into a black cave with even noticing! "I must get out quickly!" she cried. She attempted to turn the boat around, but poor Wendy was not adept with using these oars! She began to breathe heavily as she put forth all her effort. What could be within the cave? Wendy did not wish to know! A loud conversation, meanwhile, took place not too far from where Wendy now rowed. It turned out she was not in a cave, but some sort of port, or maybe an island. Lanterns were turned on among a hoard of people (along with a larger gentleman speaking like an orator). A wave of hope overwhelmed Wendy - she hoped they would allow her to stop! But suddenly, she had no more hope, but only fear... The ships, the ports, the boxes of treasures.. the savage atmosphere! "Pirates?!" she cried with a mix of horror, disgust, and overwhelming astonishment. She quickly stood up from her seat on the boat, which was a result of sheer panic. But, this was a huge mistake for Wendy, for she had lost her balance and went down into the dark, eerie lake her boat rowed on. the role player alias • tifa age • 26 pronouns • she/her how did you find us? • through RPG directory other characters • none |
