While she was young she enjoed playing with her sister a lot and As a kit, she noticed that things her clanmates didn't, being able to hear things, see things, and smell things from far distances. For a while, even when she became Dovepaw, she thought that this was normal for others. It was only when she brought up her being able to hear the beavers blocking the water to the lake that she realized this was not the case. As she was called a liar, it was revealed to her by Jayfeather and Lionblaze, her mentor, that she was part of a prophecy. Dovepaw was devastated at the time. She didn't want to be a prophecy cat - she didn't want to be different, and she didn't want any of this. Yet she didn't have a choice. Initially they pretended Starclan had given her a prophecy, to fit in with the beaver story. Alongside Lionblaze and others from the clans, Dovepaw went on the journey, growing close to the other cats on it and returning the water to the clans. When returning, she hoped that things would be back to normal. Yes, she had powers, but she was now back with her sister! Things could be okay again. But things weren't okay. Ivypaw was much more distant. She shyed from her sister, snapped at Dovepaw, and Dovepaw couldn't help but worry about her sister's restless nights. She had been rebuked for believing she had friends in other clans - and the only one she remained in contact with was Tigerheart, who she was determined to see still whenever she could, because even though the code was against it, she dearly believed that having friends in other clans and caring about them was not an issue. Finally, even with being included in the prophecy she felt... distant from Jayfeather and Lionblaze. Dovepaw knew she couldn't ever be Hollyleaf, their sister. She was just a replacement... She couldn't help but feel lonesomeness, and pressure from her clanmates. Not to mention at times, it almost felt like her senses were too much. Even as she hunted well from knowing where prey was, there was times it felt too hard to tune in to those talking to her, or sometimes it just felt like things were too loud. It was almost a relief when Ivypaw told them about the Dark Forest, and Dovepaw told her about everything she had been holding inside herself. She worried for her sister acting as a spy, but supported her nonetheless. At least she could tell her secret to someone other than Firestar and the pair of brothers as well now. It was a shock when the clans were all brought to this new world, and a frightening one to know the Dark Forest was now a part of the Underworld. When some of her clanmates started to join the Enchanted Suns, she felt... hesitance. She didn't know much about the Suns yet. Or any of the other groups. She wanted to be sure of the cause she joined. She didn't want to be used as a simple pawn, especially as her powers could be used to easily scout the enemy armies. She wants to be her own cat, but is unsure how to. the Role play sample Finding a Triple Stryke was perhaps giving the group a bit more trouble than it was worth. Of course, it always seemed that way when you were looking for a dragon rather than when it wanted to find you. That's what her father always said to her about dragon hunting, and so far it seemed to be turning out to be truer than she'd like. When Sylvi had her heart set on being able to find the tails of the Triple Stryke, she had initially hoped that one would be brought in by one of the hunters through by pure luck. She had read about the properties of their tails: and she had heard the tails of how deadly they could be. From numbness to visions to the worst of all, your blood burning while running through you. It was enough to make anyone fear the third, and it was enough for Sylvi to find a way to combat it. Yes she had Coral's healing acid, but it could only do so much. Combating something like this would have to have direct knowledge. Which meant actually being able to acquire a tail. However, it seemed that this dragon was rarer than she would have hoped. In the months since she had first began to want to combat the Triple Stryke, there had been no luck in any passer dragon trapper simply having a corpse of a Stryke on them. Which meant Sylvi had to take more drastic methods: making a contract for a hunt herself. It wasn't something that she liked to do personally. First, it meant her hard-earned coin was spent - and in this case, spent twice - in order to get materials back. And if the hunter chosen was like her father... well, then it would stand that he or she might have chosen to go after one of the young instead of a full grown one. And after what happened with Coral - she couldn't stand for that. It's partly why she insisted going alongside this mission instead of staying back like one would expect. Plus, it had given her plenty of opportunity to collect herbs from the smaller Hysteria island. Kieron had been an easy choice. Yes, he was a hunter, but he was also her age, which meant he came with the added benefit of not being in her father's generation. There were many seasoned dragon hunters: but by far, she didn't want someone who would blabber on about her father to her. If he did so about himself or even just make quips, fine, let at least it was better than the alternative. Grestuk on the other hand was a less easy choice. While she didn't anywhere near despise Maeva's brother, he was... someone she didn't like interacting with if she could. His attitude was off-putting, and in many ways he reminded her of her father. It made interacting with him.... difficult. And yet he had a good reputation as a scout. A damn great one actually. Reliable. And even though she knew Kieron could probably track down the Triple Stryke on his own, two heads were better than one, right? ... Usually at any rate. In theory, the trip should be easy enough. In practice... they had been here hours without a single sign of the Triple Stryke. Or at least, a sign that Sylvi could recognize. Admittedly with it not being her field of expertise she might have missed something but... "This is where we'll find the Triple Stryke? For sure?" She asked aloud, for both of the boys, unsure of who to refer to first. And hopefully it wouldn't lead to an argument... At the very least, she found a little bit of excitement of being away from the main isle for a while. She had found a variety of herbs she wouldn't find usually, so the trip even if they didn't find the Stryke had been worthwhile to her but... It would still be better to find that dragon to kill in the end. the role player alias • Minn age •21 pronouns • she/the how did you find us? • it's a mystery other characters • not yet |
