(ooc: Jaunary 9th, early morning in the secret hideout of the Wings. Open to all Gilded Wings.)
Curled up in his little corner of the secret hideout, Balto was just blinking away sleep and quietly enjoying himself. He'd grown accustomed to the other Wings by then, and he did enjoy their rowdy moments of company, but even Balto could agree that a bit of quiet now and again could be nice. A smile tugged at the wolfdog's lips as he stretched his forelegs out a bit. Back home he'd have undoubtedly been woken by Muk and Luk wanting to hang around, or even Boris telling him to get up. He did miss those things about home... particularly Jenna, and yet? He'd admit that he was content with his life decisions. The thought of 'why' was easy enough to guess as he gazed around the hideout. So many people had come together and, while their methods could be questionable at times, they were doing this all for the sake of those who couldn't help themselves. That was why Balto was there. He wanted to be a wolfdog who looked out for the little people. It sort of was his thing.
Of course, he realized he couldn't just lay there all morning. Sooner or later someone was going to come and tell him to do something, and so he rose up and gave himself a proper stretch. A big yawn came tumbling out moments later as the last bits of sleep drained away. What would the day hold, he wondered. Robin and the others probably would have been able to answer that. For the moment, though, Balto figured he wouldn't need to worry too much.
He padded forward and, as he did, he took a look around the hideout again. It was kind of amazing, he thought, that they had been able to establish everything they had. It would be the perfect place for all of their needs for a long time. The nicest part was knowing it led to the other Snuggly Ducklings they'd established. Truly a good setup as far as Balto could tell. He didn't claim to be an expert, but as he seated himself? He told himself that things were still going smoothly for them.
"Morning," Balto greeted. He didn't even need to look over his shoulder. His hearing was keen enough to have picked up on light footsteps behind him. Apparently, either someone else had decided they didn't want to be too rowdy yet or they were building up to it. Balto did look over his shoulder a moment later, though. He wanted to see which of the fellow Gilded Wings had decided to come over.
"Any plans this morning?"
