"Trust me. Dogs can be more judgmental than they might appear," Balto answered. "It was mostly just one dog that really had it out for me, but because he didn't like me and the humans didn't like me the majority of the other dogs didn't either. One of them once asked me 'What's wolf for go chase your tail,' if you can believe it." The phrase was a bit of an insult, at least in dog terms, so he didn't expect that Vivienne would fully understand it. Still, he'd explained it as best he could. The only thing he'd left out was how it all had gotten turned around eventually.
"That all was in the past, though. Recently things have gotten a lot better back home," he explained. "But I chose to come here so I could hopefully do some good for the folks that aren't so lucky. But... guess that's everyone's story, more or less." Gideon had a good question that was brought up once he finished. What did they want to do with their day? Balto finished up the muffin, licking crumbs from his face when he was done, and slowly rose into a bit of a stretch before giving an answer.
"Well, I don't exactly have a lot planned for the day. I kind of was going to go looking around and see if there was anyone that might need help with anything around here," he answered. He wasn't sure if Vivienne had anything planned apart from needing to do chores. The best thing he could do was ask, of course.
"How about you?" His head tilted slightly. "Anything in particular you want to do? It might get you out of doing chores for a bit."
