She is never not seen without her black warpaint, depicting her status within her tribe- which only seems to emphasise her strange features. Of course, no rogue is without scars and Kaia is certainly no exception. Her arms, torso and back are littered with countless scars- from battles and ambushes with other rogues. She doesn’t bother to hide the silvery marks, instead proudly displaying them. In addition, Kaia as several tattoos, gained after joining the rogue tribe. Kaia also possesses a spinal tattoo depicting phases of the moon and her hair is braided in the style of her former clan- it’s a reminder to never forget who she is or where she came from. But aside from that, Kaia doesn’t really have any particular goals. fears • being asked about her past, ending up like her parents and siblings, losing Gypsy and being separated from Gypsy. Losing her cousins especially. overall personality • Kaia is an interesting case. The best way she can be described is "happy-go-lucky meets I somehow set fire to the kitchen making a salad meets fuck it lets do it meets Adore Delano". She is a hot mess through and through, one that's barely keeping it together, but she usually means well and are surprisingly charming. But that's merely an image she portrays- in reality Kaia walks a tightrope- balancing between a bright and charming extravert and a borderline feral creature built from pain and endless secrets. She's a lonely flightly thing, often thinking about her past and reminiscing about things before her parents died. Unsurprisingly, she still wails and mourns over what was lost- hence her moniker of Banshee. But despite liking attention, she HATES it whenever someone notices cracks in her facade and tries to ask her if everything is okay. She despises talking about her problems (especially with strangers) and instead suppresses them- forever hiding behind a lazy grin that never truly reaches her eyes. But let it be known that Kaia will do what she must to survive. PLATONIC For the most part, Kaia is everyone's "chill big sis" with a devil may care twist. She's friendly, charming, fairly go with the flow and a little reckless. However, don't take that for face value. She does contain hidden depths but chooses not to expand on them for obvious reasons. As a result, she feels infinitely more comfortable in the "chill older sister" archetype. However, she isn’t opposed to meeting people through this archetype. If anything, she welcomes it. Anyone who can handle her endless aresenal of nicknames and stupid remarks/jokes, she'll like. Granted, she won't lower her guard around them entirely or immediately trust them but she will be inclined to spend more time with them. If you are lucky enough, Kaia might let you in over time, and might let you see who she really is. But be careful- her trust isn't just freely given. And besides, what can be given can always be taken away just as easily. ANTAGONISTIC Kaia, for all her caution and walls, is surprisingly naive. Due to her determination that things will get better, it's unsurprising that she’s started to whole-heartedly believe it. And so, it's also to be expected that she can be manipulated by the ideas of false promises- being blinded by that determination and hope. As a result, she is (mostly) blinded by such manipulation and views the manipulator in high regard-so it'll take her a while for her to even realise she's being manipulated. Things get ugly from here. Kaia is the type that once bridges are burnt, there's practically no chance of salvaging them- as if the platonic relationship had never occurred in the first place. It'll take a lot of convincing for her to even give someone a second chance, but as expected Kaia will never trust the person in the same way she once did. ROMANTIC Good luck trying to even tie Kaia down. She's a hot mess- you think she wants to subject anyone else to that? But even then, Kaia is still subject to crushes...And when she crushes- Kaia falls hard and fast. A romantic at heart, she’s dreamed of meeting her perfect match since she was little- primarily due to the rather loving relationship between their parents. Despite this, Kaia is a fucking dumbass when it comes to romance. She is extremely awkward around her crushes- despite doing her best to hide it under her cocky persona- and frankly has no idea what to even do. Majority of her former relationships were just short flings- often physical and nothing too serious. As a result she has no idea how to even approach something serious. But just give her time...She’ll figure it out eventually. the history father • Sirius (deceased), right hand to the Chief, (deceased) mother • name, age, occupation Io, (deceased), diplomat, Acrux (deceased), medic. History, singing, Nox’s mythology and religion dominated much of her early life and childhood. However, Lunariis desired to be more than a future wife for another great warrior. She wanted to become a warrior herself. Every time she watched her brothers and cousins during their swordplay lessons, something called out to her. To pick up a wooden sword and join. Alas, ladies were not mean to demean themselves by doing such things. And it was with a heavy heart, Lunariis slipped into her role of lady in training- sparking a fire within her that only grew with each year. Unlike the Northern Clans or their neighbours, the Nox clan was isolated from them entirely- living on a massive island with seven other large clans in the Southern part of the Barbaric Archipelago. However, the island itself was horrid mish-mash of various terrains and natural barriers- effectively keeping majority of the clans to themselves and dragons out- depending if they managed to even get close to the island. Due to this, it was practically impossible to break the hierarchy and gender roles of Nox- with those stupid reinforcments being in place since the clan’s beginning. Lunariis, who had ditched her birth name for Kaia, decided to rebel. Enough was enough. She wasn’t a lady, and she never would be. It was time to shed the image of dreamy and soft moon child. So, on the eve of her thirteenth birthday, Kaia snuck down to the training room and picked up a training sword off a rack. Her heart was pounding as she held the wooden blade in her hands, and Kaia could hardly contain her elatedness. It was then she had noticed her cousins watching her from the shadows, the two gazing at her with a curious expression. The outgoing brother, Gemini, grinned at her and exclaimed it was finally time and picked up his own practice sword. Kaia’s face split into a grin at that moment. Her cousins would teach her swordplay lessons in secret in the wee hours of the morning and she would continue to train to be a lady without anyone being none the wiser. Granted, Kaia was absolutely exhausted more often than not, but for the first time in forever- she was happy. Sun is coming up oh why, oh why, oh why All I know is a hopeless place that flows with the blood of my kin The very minute Kaia stepped on Crescent Island , she began to steal and trade whatever little possessions she had for food and items. She was starting entirely from scratch and accordingly, Kaia needed to take whatever she could get. It didn’t matter from who, or when. All that mattered now was her survival. Cora, Cora, Flora and Fauna, how did you get your throne? You made a deal, you traded daffodils for a kingdom of ash and bone Of course, it was during her “coronation” that she had her first real brush with dragons. Prior to that moment, she had heard tales about the dragons being trained and had seen the occasional glimpse of the flying reptiles and her monsters, but Kaia merely had assumed it wasn’t something fully integrated in everyday life as the tribe had almost little to no contact with the dragons before. Subsequently, she was beyond confused upon noticing a ghostly pale deadly nadder watching the celebration from the shadows. It looked almost curious, with its head cocked to the side and its beady eyes watching the humans. Kaia felt a twinge of...Something for the beast and threw them a trout at their feet. The nadder stared at the fish before it tentatively ate it, still keeping its eyes on Kaia. That, however, was not the first and last time Kaia had seen the nadder. Following the initial meeting, the flying reptile stuck around the tribe’s campgrounds. Kaia was almost amused by its behaviour, and left trout in areas which the nadder frequented. Over time, the dragon began to get braver, and in turn- its curiosity increased. The nadder started to follow Kaia as she completed her duties, only to flee whenever she turned around to look at it. Her response? Just drop trout behind her. Kaia had grown to like the nadder’s company, even if they were acting like a child. Due to this, a truce had been formed between the two. And steadily, both got bolder. The Nadder stopped fleeing whenever Kaia turned to look at it, and if anything started to grumble whenever it wanted food. In return, Kaia was allowed to get closer...And maybe pet the nadder if they permitted it. After a few more months of their “routine”, the nadder stuck to Kaia like glue. So it was only appropriate that Kaia name them. She called the nadder “Gypsy”, solely because she liked the sound of it. That was two years ago. Since then, Kaia and Gypsy have been inseparable- strengthening their bond, mostly via Kaia learning how to ride her dragon. Ever since news of the war had managed to get to her tribe, Kaia has been travelling around with Gypsy to other tribes in order to build and strengthen alliances… But who knows how that will turn out? the role player alias • portal age • SEVENTEEN CAUSE I’M SWEETER THAN SIXTEEN pronouns • She/her other characters • Iseult |
