(Open thread for any Enchanted Suns. January 1st)
The sun had risen but Sarabi didn't see it or feel it in the same ways as she had back home, back at Pride Rock. Where she was used to the pink hues gradually rising to a brilliant orange sunrise and then quickly welcoming the light into their world with a warmth, things were different here. Here there were larger mountains surrounding them, casting a gentle shade across the lands and allowing the dew of the morning to linger a little longer within the threads of the vines and moss. even further within the forest is was much cooler in the mornings, almost frosty around the roots f the trees and upon their leaves that served as a green canopy overhead. They'd warm later, but or now Sarabi's fur kept her comfortable enough against these elements. Brisk, but not shiver inducing as she tread carefully down a pathway to a small creek.
This creek was not far from where their animal encampment was, the creatures who were unfit for or not wanting to stay within Arendelle's fine stone walls. Sarabi approached its edge with a tender step, lurching her large neck down to lap the freezing water up with the back of her tongue. Amber eyes raised and although it appeared there was nothing in particular she was looking at her ears tilted backwards. The Queen was alert, calm though, and although her mind was still numb with her nights sleep she wondered if it was a morning report from the night scouts or guards.
Or simply a morning visitor also looking for a drink by the stream. She turned, licking her jowls clean of spare water to be presentable as she craned her gaze over her shoulder.
"Good morning." the old Queen greeted, a warmth radiating from her kind smile despite the chilly air that was lingering. The sun was beginning to peak more freely through the thick trees above head indicating it'd be much warmer soon enough.
