Although it surprised Tiana to see Stitch climb the tree the way he did, she did appreciate him reaching out to put his clawed paw against her shoulder. Truth be told, Tiana hadn't expected the others to really focus on her loss. Her daddy had passed what felt like many many years ago. Even so, she leaned in to the touch Stitch offered and smiled gratefully up at him. Her attention was divided mere moments later.
A scruffy grey dog had come to join their throng. He was wearing a red collar similar to Lady's, and from the way he spoke Tiana thought he sounded rather streetwise. Apparently he'd snuck his way past the guards Sarabi had put up. Tiana wasn't quite sure whether to laugh a bit at how clever Tramp seemed or to keep quiet. In the end, she chose to keep quiet and let Stitch address Lady and Tramp. There he went again, being adorable as he barked a sort of greeting to them. Only when he brought up the cake again did Tiana laugh.
"Even if they haven't had it before," she said, "I could always make some if they want to try it." That way Stitch and everyone else would get their share. The way Lady and Tramp interacted did make her heart ache a bit, though. She missed her goofball of a husband.
He's fine, Tiana told herself. It's okay to miss him, but don't you forget what you're here to do. Naveen probably knew better than to get himself involved in any kind of a war. Tiana was the one that wanted to go out there in the first place and provide what she could. Nonetheless, a small part of her did wish he was by her side. Just for a moment. She did shake the thought away, though, and seated herself beside Stitch since they had finally reached their destination.
"You two are lucky to have each other," Tiana said, looking back to Lady and Tramp. "Be sure y'all take care of each other while you're here, you hear?"
