Lilo the basics Lilo• nicknames • Weirdlo, Little Girl, Little Earth Girl, Little Cutie age • 10 (seven during the events of Stitch Has a Glitch, cited spending three years looking for Experiments which happens afterward, and since her birthday is in September, and she has one during the series, guessing 10.) primary standing • Enchanted Suns Trainee secondary standing • Official Ambassador of the Galactic Empire to Earth and Experiment’s Sole Caretaker faction • Enchanted Suns species • Human gender • Female sexuality • Straight the appearance origin • Lilo & Stitch height and weight • 90lbs, 3’5 overall appearance • Lilo is a round little native Hawaiian girl with black hair, brown eyes, and a figure that’s still blurred with a little baby fat. She typically wears a red muumuu with white palm leaves patterning it, but in Arendelle and working for the Enchanted Suns she wears her tan khaki shorts and lavender t-shirt. the personality overall personality • Lilo is an exceptionally smart but quirky little girl. Her mind has the openness to believe in most things and take the weird and unlikeliest of occurrences in stride. She’s naturally curious. Lilo tends to love all things gross, creepy, and bizarre. She loves to read (as long as it’s about voodoo) and watch movies (as long as they’re scary) and tell stories of her own (which usually involve something odd or off.) She has a flair for the dramatic. Lilo’s immaturity normally shows itself in outbursts of temper, being extremely opinionated and stubborn, and having a bent towards revenge or getting even. She also likes to win, fostering competitiveness. Her pride as well as a childlike desire to be accepted and liked sometimes causes her to lie, reinvent herself, or focus single-mindedly on a goal that may not be healthy. She doesn’t respond to being forced into anything or held under authority well, probably due to her parents’ deaths. Lilo has a big heart. She’s unwaveringly loyal to her family and ultimately always sides with outcasts and unwanted people, aliens, or animals. She has a strong sense of justice that’s getting more clear as she gets older and learns from her mistakes, something most kids find hard to do. Once Lilo lets someone into her heart, they never leave it. She takes betrayal very hard. the history overall history • Lilo’s family had never been wealthy or large, but they were happy. Her parents were native Hawaiians living in Kokaua Town, a small beachside community containing nothing more interesting than a hula school and the town moneybags, Mr. Jameson’s, resort. But it was quaint, despite tourists, and relaxing. Lilo’s older sister Nani was only eighteen when Mr. and Mrs. Pelekai went for a drive up the scenic Hawaiian hillside and got caught in the rain, killed in a tragic car accident. Lilo would’ve been an orphan thrown into foster care if not for Nani desperately shouldering the burden of raising and caring for her little sister. Lilo dealt with the sadness first by sleeping most days, then gradually finding bizarre things like fat tourist photography or Wasp Mummy movies to distract herself with. She became lonely, because although the people of Kokaua Town cared very much about the two Pelekai girls, none of them quite knew what to say or how to act around the odd youngest...especially not her peers. Even in Kumuu Moses’ hula class, which her mother had attended in her childhood, the girls began giving her a wide berth and, lead by mean redhead Mertle Edmunds, calling her ‘Weirdlo.’ Nani and Lilo didn’t always get along, either. The bigger sister was constantly under stress and Lilo didn’t even try to make things easier, balking under authority that wasn’t her beloved mom and dad. This caused social worker Cobra Bubbles to give Nani an ultimatum: change his mind about her responsibleness and capabilities to raise Lilo in three days, or lose her sister to foster care. Still, Nani tried. She and Lilo saw what allear3 to be a falling star one night and she overheard Lilo’s quiet wish for a friend who wouldn’t run away from her. Lilo was nervous the next day when Nani took her to pick out a new best friend at the local pet shelter. Her uncharacteristic shyness melted away when she left the shelter with a fascinating new addition to their family: a weirdly blue, compact, koala-like dog who had talked and picked his nose with his own tongue upon meeting Lilo. Nani didn’t like the looks of him, especially after the shelter owner declared he’d been found after getting run over by two trucks the previous day...but Lilo chose immediately to love her new puppy, who she named ‘Stitch.’ Stitch was so badly behaved that he was lucky to have such a forgiving new owner. Lilo was forced to defend him and insist he was a part of their Ohana when he wrecked pretty much everything he touched and unashamedly creeped Nani out. He pushed Lilo and didn't seem to care about being her friend one way or the other. He even attacked Cobra Bubbles after getting Nani fired from her job with his antics! But Lilo wouldn’t give up on her new Ohana. She set out to try to make her naughty new friend a model citizen. The six year-old’s personal hero was Elvis Presley, and she tried to make Stitch understand how to be good using the King’s example: teaching him to play guitar, romance, and dance all ended in disasters and also cost Nani many new job opportunities. Stitch was wild and destructive no matter what she tried. Finally, the evening of Cobra’s third-day ultimatum, when both sisters reached the end of their rope, their family friend and on-and-off boyfriend of Nani’s, David Kawena, helped them relax with surfing. Lilo noticed Stitch’s behavior change on the water: he seemed frightened. On the beach he was quiet and his puppy eyes even looked wistful, watching her play in the sand with Nani and David. Finally he dragged a surfboard over and seemed to want to go surfing—he actually wanted to play with Lilo! Delighted, she and Nani headed out into the ocean with Stitch...only to get knocked into the surf by some unseen assailant in the water. Lilo was distraught when she realized Stitch hadn’t gotten to shore with them. David rescued the blue dog, who apparently couldn’t swim, but when he revived he was as snarly and cranky as ever. And unfortunately, Cobra Bubbles had seen the whole dangerous scene from a distance. Lilo didn’t fully understand why her sister was so sad that evening, but she tried to cheer her up. It didn’t work. And what was worse, Stitch seemed confused and quiet all evening. She caught the strange dog looking at the picture of her parents she kept hidden beneath a pillow. Lilo explained what had happened to them, and how they were a broken family. She saw the searching, unsettled body language of her puppy and welcomed him to leave if he wanted to. She’d already decided to love Stitch, wrinkles and naughtiness and all, but she knew from experience that sometimes family left and never came back...even if they weren’t forgotten. Stitch disappeared out the window. Lilo went to bed sadly, certain that her dog had never understood the meaning of Ohana and staying with your family. The next morning was still sad, and Nani seemed to be about to tell her something ominous when David showed up, eagerly pulling Nani out to check on one last job opportunity. Hoping to save Lilo from foster care in a last-ditch effort, she told her little sister to lock the door and not answer it for anyone, then left. Lilo was alone with her thoughts again...until Stitch suddenly came bursting into the house, panicked and breathless. Lilo discovered her pet was being chased by some kind of four-eyed, big, round creature. She tried to lead her blue buddy out the back door to escape, but another one-eyed noodle weirdo was waiting there. Lilo had read enough books and seen enough movies to recognize aliens when she saw them. Stitch gallantly tried to fight them off with whatever household weapons he could make while Lilo did the most sensible thing her six year-old brain could conceive: called Cobra Bubbles. She was interrupted, however, when part of the living room roof caved in—right on top of Stitch. She bravely assaulted the four-eyed guy digging through the rubble with a broom, giving Stitch, who was surprisingly uninjured, time to attack again. Lilo couldn’t help because the other alien suddenly grabbed her and took off into the woods. While her home was still in view, it suddenly exploded, blasting the alien who’d been carrying her away and leaving Lilo sitting in the driveway, staring, dumbfounded, at the mess. Cobra Bubbles and a fire team arrived. Lilo was explaining what had happened when a frantic Nani appeared. Cobra shoved her into the car and Lilo realized that Cobra was going to take her away. She escaped, racing into the forest only to meet up with Stitch. Her cobalt dog was holding the singed remains of her parents’ picture. Lilo glared at him and realized that he had ruined everything, from Nani’s job, to her chances with Cobra, to their house! A shamefaced Stitch suddenly grew two extra arms, spikes, and...antennae. He was revealing himself to be an alien, too. It didn’t excuse anything. Lilo was ready for the disloyal, selfish Stitch to get out of her broken life...but then a third, gigantic alien came out of nowhere and captured her, mistaking her for Stitch, and rocketed into the atmosphere. Apparently Stitch was not a dog, but a genetically sewn-together Frankenstein’s monster of different alien beasts in a small package. Dr. Jumba Jookiba, the four-eyed alien, had created him with the sole purpose of destroying everything he touched. The one-eyed alien was named Pleakley, an earth-expert helping Jookiba capture his foul creation on behalf of the Galactic Empire. They’d been banished for their failure that morning and Gantu, the giant one, Captain of the Galactic Armada, had come to clean up their mess. Lilo gave herself up to being taken away: into outer space or into foster care, she was losing her Ohana either way. But Stitch wasn’t as selfish and monstrous as he’d been created anymore. Lilo had infected his manufactured biology with love, unconditional. She’d taught him what Ohana means: family. Family meant nobody got forgotten, or left behind. Stitch wasn’t going to leave Lilo behind. With the help of Jumba, his creator who felt more loyal to his creation than anything else, and Pleakley, who was disgraced and at this point along for the ride, and Nani, desperate to save her sister no matter the unbelievable circumstances, Stitch took on Captain Gantu and saved Lilo. When they got back to solid ground, the Grand Councilwoman of the Galactic Empire and her otherworldly officers were waiting to take Stitch away. But Lilo wasn’t giving up. Cobra Bubbles, who turned out to be a former CIA agent familiar with extraterrestrials all along, hinted to her that she had bought Stitch at the shelter, after all, and aliens are all about obeying rules. She ran up and informed the Grand Councilwoman that taking Stitch into custody would be stealing him from his new family, and the Councilwoman was only too happy, seeing the change in the monster, to let him serve out his exile on earth with the Pelekai’s. Lilo’s new family was added to by Jumba Jookiba and Pleakley, who had nowhere else to go and disguised themselves as her new Uncle and Aunt respectively, repairing Nani’s home. A year later, Stitch was learning more and more how to curb his destructive impulses and shining through as Lilo’s best friend and closest life companion...until he was afflicted by a ‘glitch’ in his biology that forced him to revert to his original programming in spasmodic episodes of destruction. Lilo was nearing a special ceremony in her hula class, and missing her mother, who’d been something of a hula prodigy, she was too preoccupied with winning a hula competition to notice and help her friend. Stitch almost perished, but Lilo’s love for the genetically modified alien saved him at the last moment. She realized that her mom would be proud of her no matter what, just like she would always love Stitch, no matter how he acted. After another year a new tragedy struck the Pelekai’s alien family. Jumba was kidnapped by Gantu, who’d been fired after accidentally kidnapping Lilo two years ago. Gantu was revealed to be working for Dr. Hamsterveil, a diminutive gerbil maniac who had funded and helped Jumba’s shady scientific business deals in the past. He wanted access to a project he and Jumba had worked on ages ago...apparently Stitch was not the first monster Jumba created. There were six hundred and twenty-five more, sealed away in dehydrated pod forms, all with unique naughty personalities, programming as evil as Stitch’s originally, and individual destructive capabilities and superpowers. What started as a mission to save Jumba turned into a mission to capture and rehabilitate all of Stitch’s ‘cousins’ when they were accidentally released all over Hawaii. Gantu complicated things, being left on earth while Hamsterviel was imprisoned but still working for the villain to try and capture the alien creatures first. Still, Lilo worked together with Stitch, balancing her hula classes and family responsibilities all while adventuring around Hawaii for three years collecting, stopping, and adding the other Experiments into their family. She grew in her talent for finding the perfect belonging places for each little monster. They loved her. At the end of three years, their mission was complete and her Ohana bigger than ever. She was named Earth’s Official Ambassador and the Experiments’ Sole Caretaker by the Galactic Council, who apparently didn’t care that she was only ten years old. Unfortunately, they also awarded Stitch with an adventuring post as Captain of the Galactic Armada, gave Jumba his asteroid lab back, and named Pleakley head of the Galactic Alliance Community College. Her family was being split up again. But Lilo had learned that loving meant to let go, so she resigned herself to being lonely again for Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley’s sake. Hamsterviel had other plans. He hadn’t given up, even though all Experiments were now mild-mannered citizens of Hawaii. He forced Jumba to make him an all-new monster—a rusty red, frilled, fanged, gnarly version of Stitch totally devoted to his commands. With this Experiment, named Leroy, he cloned himself an army and captured all of the newly rehabilitated Experiments for extermination. Lilo was reunited with Stitch when she convinced Rueben, the one Experiment who had never belonged, to help her find him. She, Pleakley, Jumba, and even Gantu (who was sick of Hamsterviel and wanted his own Ohana after 3 years of seeing it lived out) raced back to earth to save Stitch’s cousins from Hamsterviel. If not for Jumba’s safeguard programming, the Leroy clone army would have been too much for even Stitch and his family. But Lilo rallied the group and they managed to shut down the red monsters. After this, Lilo, Stitch, and the whole Pelekai Ohana, aliens and all, began to settle back into a new normal of life. Then there was a shift in the world. The Galactic Alliance contacted Lilo and Stitch for aid, knowing of Stitch’s great prowess in any combat situation and Lilo’s resourceful capabilities at this point. Nani and Cobra Bubbles were against any more adventures for the duo for a while, and were still waiting to see what turn the war situation would take, when Lilo woke up one morning to find Stitch gone. Pleakley was similarly indignant because Jumba and their ship had disappeared too. It took her a few weeks to find the hover craft, which was the nine year-old’s only form of transport but was alien, so Nani always hid it. Usually the spacecraft was pretty easy to find, since Nani was predictable, but Lilo hadn’t realized how much she relied on her super-sniffing Stitch to find things. It took her much longer than normal before she discovered it in David’s surf shed. Then she had to wait for a good opportunity before she could fly off and join the Enchanted Suns...and probably give Stitch a bath and Jumba a dose of screaming for leaving her behind. the role player alias • Spot age • 23 pronouns • She, her how did you find us? • MY FRIENDSSS! other characters •Simba, Tarzan, Aladdin |
