(January 27th, just past the Pridelands border. Open to All)
The carpet of foliage that blanketed the ground here was a big difference from the tentacles of thorny vines that had encompassed the previous area. There were also a lot more trees, bushes, and life in general scattered thoroughly throughout. Most beings would of probably been thankful for the change in scenery, but a certain liyote couldn't agree. Torgudd had become accustomed to the harsh landscape he had been staying in the past week. Familiar was always better in his book. Such is why each step forward by the reptomammal was taken like a child begrudgingly being coaxed off to school. Though necessary, it certainly wasn't enjoyable.
So why leave in the first place? He had to keep reminding himself of the answer. The simple fact that he was still searching for how he had gotten to these strange lands and, more importantly, how to get back home. It wouldn't of been too much of a concern if Mandonga had allowed him to stick around. So long as he was with company the instinct to seek out his original pack was quelled. Yet their temporary companionship had quickly expired leaving him with no choice but to move on. It was either that or stay alone; something Torgudd was against with every fiber of his foolhardy being.
With his trudging pace, the liyote barely made any ground by the time it was noon. It was only the warmth of the sun that even stirred the bi-species beast from his melancholy. Being cold-blooded and one to enjoy a good sunbath, the relaxing ray that graced his multi-textured hide was exactly what he needed. Cerulean irises peeled up from the ground to scan the canopy above with renewed vigor. The way the limbs danced with each breeze, seemingly scattering the light all across the forest floor, gave Gudd the idea for a game.
Bring his attention to the patches of shifting rays, the reptomammal began to bounce jovially from one puddle of sunlight to the next. All woes forgotten as easily as they arrived. If observed, one would find that he was simply trying to keep in the light as best he could. When the wind would toss a shadow his way he would scramble to the closest ray of sunshine. Sometimes on two legs, and sometimes on all four if room allowed. The liyote did his best to stick to his original northern path, but overall he was most likely taking a lot more zigs and zags thanks to this new game. It did help in bringing his usual childlike cheer back though as shown in his giddy grin with each successful leap into safety.
It was this state that any new arrival would find Gudd in. Oblivious to approach and completely caught up with his own past-time.
