(ooc: January 30th, mid-day. Closed to @helga and Kai.)
When it came to Helga, backstory was more of a 'don't know, don't care' sort of thing. She only was vaguely aware of the fact that this leopard might not have wanted to be there. All she knew for sure was his name and the fact that, through some agreement with Maleficent, he was a part of their ranks. Well, that was fine by her. Fresh meat to whip into shape meant more fun for her. That was especially true after her previous task of seeking new recruits. Her thoughts were pressed away from that, though, and brought back to the obstacle course that she'd set up.
Perhaps it wasn't what Kai had been expecting. Nevertheless, it would be a good test for agility and to see just what he was capable of. There was a large wooden wall she'd set up for him to scale, obstacles to weave between, a jumping relevant section, and even a makeshift obstacle to avoid getting hit by as it swung back and forth.
Honestly? She'd be surprised if he could scale the wall. During her time as a Bishop, though, she had seen plenty of things that had surprised her. If Kai could impress her? That would be something he could brag to the other knights about. Not sooner, though. Only after he'd actually succeeded in showing her what he could do would Helga admit anything.
"All right," Helga said. "I don't normally run solo sessions, but we still don't know that much about you. Frankly, I'm not sure if I should be expecting anything good from you or not. But here's how this is going to go. You're going to run this obstacle course. And you're not leaving this room until you complete it." The instructions were simple, at least on the surface. Whether Helga would do anything to make the task more challenging remained to be seen.
"You'll start here," she said as she strode to the beginning of the course. The spot in question was where she'd laid out a few piles of mats to act as jumping points. Between the wide spaces of the mats were piles of sand she'd spread out. On the surface it looked simple. Helga would make sure he understood the stakes weren't as low as they might have looked.
"Jump from one pile of mats to another to another without touching the sand," she explained. "You touch the sand? You have to start again. From there you go to the weaving section. Get through the obstacles without touching any of them, otherwise you have to start all the way back at the mats. And I think you get the idea." She smirked. If he messed up, he had to start again. And again. And again.
"By the way?" Helga held up a stopwatch for Kai to see. Her expression didn't get any less smug. Any human being knew that a stopwatch could only mean one thing. Kai was a wild animal, though. She'd have to explain it.
"You'll be timed." She did expect him to be fast, but not so fast that he made mistake after mistake. There had to be a balance. Any good soldier knew that.
