Taiwo the basics full name • Taiwo nicknames • Tumble, Little Rascal (both by his older brother.) age • Eight Months primary standing • Loner Cub secondary standing • Friend of the Pridelands. faction • Enchanted Sun’s (loosely) species • African Lion gender • Male sexuality • Straight the appearance origin • The Lion King height and weight • 1”9, 35lbs. overall appearance • Taiwo is a cheerfully bright lemon-colored lion cub, built to be very big when he grows up, but round and cuddly now. He does have long legs for his age, which are sure to get lankier and more awkward as he ages. He’s got a peachy pink nose that matches his inner ears. His five defining traits are his very bushy brown eyebrows, similarly chocolate colored mischievous eyes, poofy head fur which sticks straight up in a ridiculous manner, his chipped foretooth, and finally, freckles. Most of the little cub spots adorn his snout, but some of them speckle his belly and hind legs, too. He’s really too old to have so many, but they match his carefree, youthful personality. He also has an unruly rusty tail tuft. the personality likes • Sunlight, wide-open spaces, eating, napping, trying new things, being liked, and especially playing pretend. dislikes • Darkness (at all,) closed in areas (like caves,) staying in one spot for too long, being ignored, hurting anyone’s feelings. strengths • Very extremely chill for a cub; doesn’t get scared or insecure about changes that would frighten other cubs. Recklessly brave because he single-mindedly likes new and exciting experiences. Hefty for a cub, but until he’s older this won’t be much of a strength in real fights. weaknesses • Only a cub, and one who isn’t sensitive to social norms or expectations. His ignorance and impudence could get him killed if he’s not protected, and at the least it could cause him to lose friends. He’s cripplingly afraid of tight spaces and spazzes out if put in any kind of corner. dreams • To be a hero renowned by animals all over the world, so that animals tell stories about him one day. To have a full and complete family. fears • Darkness and cramped spaces, being left all alone with no one who cares about him. Losing his only family, his big brother. overall personality • Taiwo is a rough-and-tumble rascal who knows pretty much just one thing: playing and taking it easy. Timon and Pumbaa have never met him, but if they had they’d say he was pretty good at Hakuna Matata. Taiwo loves trying new things, whether that’s eating something a little off-color or jumping headfirst into a mysterious-smelling liquid. He has little to no filter or common sense when it comes to danger. While he’s naturally charming and makes friends easily as long as they like to have fun, he also doesn’t know when to quit being loud and cheerful and silly, so that tends to get on other lions’ nerves. It has also gotten him into trouble with bigger, more ferocious animals before. Taiwo doesn’t notice things that are harsh and bleak about the world. He sees life very simply: eat, play, have fun with friends. He could be seen as sheltered, but actually, he’s known loss, and it’s made him cling to happy things so tightly that he’s almost oblivious to everything else. Because he has spent a lot of time either alone or at least with no one his age to play with, he’s a bit on the creatively-eccentric side: he’s made up all sorts of unorthodox games to play that others find weird, not to mention imaginary friends. But it also makes Taiwo a bundle of fun! the history father • Unknown mother • Daima, 6, deceased siblings • Jaribu, brother, 3. important people • Is acquainted with some animals all over Africa. overall history • Taiwo was born to a lioness who may have come from the pride of Mufasa, due to her knowledge of the Pridelands and good standing with them. But Taiwo has never heard this conclusively: Daima was a quiet mother who liked to tell her son stories that were almost too fantastic to be true, usually had a practical lesson about survival in it somewhere, and not much else. The survival tips were useful for a single mom in the savanna, however. Taiwo was taught how to hunt lizards and mice early on, which amused him while his mother was away hunting during the day. He had an active imagination and could make up friends for himself from the clouds to race with, or kidnapped innocent beetles to play hide and seek with. While he and his mom would usually trail game for miles, it was in a localized area between two particular trees that served as their homes. One day when Taiwo was around six months old, a stranger started trailing Daima and her cub. She was anxious until she caught the scent of the follower. Then everything changed. Her excitement was infectious so that soon Taiwo was eagerly joining his mom in bouncing around a 3 year old lion who turned out to be his wandering bachelor of an older brother named Jaribu. Jaribu was only planning to visit for a few days after catching his mom’s smell and meeting his little brother. Daima was killed by leopards after injuring herself during a hunt. Jaribu had been staying with his younger brother, offering to entertain the lonely Taiwo the day it happened. When they found out what happened the next day, Taiwo was obviously devastated. For the next 48 hours the normally rambunctious cub just slept and cried until he didn’t have tears left, refusing to eat. Jaribu had few social skills. He was grieving, too. But he decided to take his little brother as his responsibility and promised Taiwo to take care of each other. They were family. This new devotion and time itself healed Taiwo’s young heart. From that day on, he and his big brother lived a carefree life, playing, sleeping, eating, and hunting. Sometimes they got into trouble with other carnivores or unsavory characters who’s territory they blundered into. Sometimes he was left alone while his brother hunted. But always they scraped out together, were on the move, meeting new animals, seeing new things, traveling, traveling, traveling. The world’s merged, but the lion brothers stayed in Africa for the most part, so other than interesting new stories to hear it didn’t change their routine much...at first. They revisited some places as Taiwo reached eight months, like the Pridelands most often. Jaribu introduced Taiwo to a hunting party of lionesses. They were wary of an intruding male but Taiwo was so cute, and apparently they were already acquainted with Jaribu, so that there wasn’t any trouble. They only stayed a day, and Taiwo got to meet other cubs and see fascinating cultural things like royalty and the pride hierarchy, the way different animals worked together to serve their King. He was fascinated, but he was still as excited as ever to keep moving when their stay ended. It was only a week after this that Jaribu disappeared. Taiwo waited for three days for him to return to their meeting spot. Jaribu was kind and fun and took pretty good care of his little brother, but he wasn’t a model responsible parent and hadn’t ever laid out a plan for what his lemon-colored sibling should do if this sort of thing separated them. Taiwo thought about going to the elephants in the east and asking for help. He wondered if he could walk that far on his own. Suddenly the world seemed so dangerous and unloving when he was on his own. Finally, he decided to look for help with Mufasa’s pride. It was the nearest, after all, and they’d been kind. It wasn’t like he’d stay long, anyway. Surely Jaribu would be back soon. the Role play sample (not sure if I have to do this/count as new....?
