(January 25th - Midday open to all)
The sun was weak and pale as it shown through the dank window of the Black Keep. It was an inspiring effort, really, something Cinderella couldn't help but appreciate as she went about wiping down the window sills. A bucket of soapy water sat next to her. The maiden methodically dunked her rag in and out as she went about cleaning all the windows. A small difference, but one that would hopefully make things feel a bit more bright.
There was something strangely soothing about her current activity. For all the cleaning she had done in her life, the blond couldn't help but acknowledge that there was something about the routine she enjoyed. When doing a repetitive task like the one at hand, she was able to let her brain relax and daydream. Think about what life was like before - if it had even happened at all. The before, the after, and the after that - that was really how she felt her life was split.
And yet, part of it felt like a dream even though she had gone through it herself.
Ella hummed a little tune as she got off the ledge and picked up the heavy bucket. She was slowly gaining her strength back as she hadn't done much manual lifting in a while. After the windows was her other favorite part of the day, going to the stables. She had quickly learned all of the horses' names and they had become fast friends. It was nice to have something to look after. All in all, it was actually a pretty decent day. And no one had come to disturb her. Yet.
It wasn't like Ella's duties were strict in what she had to get done in one day. It was more...generalized than it had been with Lady Tremaine. As long as things seemed cleaner and people were happy, than she would be fine. The only hard part was being one of the only people around to do that. But still, she had her quiet time and no one could ruin it.
That was until she heard someone calling her name. Ella put the rag back in the bucket and turned around to see if she could assist. She just hoped that it wouldn't be too demanding a task.
