February 3rd, open to any Cursed Thorns who might be in the jungle.
Not for the first time, Sabor reflected on how easy it would be to simply slip away from the Thorns, and disappear into the depths of the jungle where she'd never be found unless she wished it. And, not for the first time, she was somewhat tempted to do just that. With nothing else forthcoming after the fight over the wagon, the leopard's interest in this war was waning. Where she'd seen an opportunity to test herself, and to feast on the flesh of new prey, now all she was seeing was a bunch of strange creatures fumbling around in the jungle, creatures she had agreed not to hunt...and little else.
She put such thoughts from her mind as she prowled through the undergrowth, still damp and misty after a recent rain, moving as silently as the air itself. The humidity didn't bother her, nor did the occasional drop of water from the leaves she slid under. She was in her element, and she reveled in it. Her pace picked up a bit as she caught the scent of a deer, fresh upon the ground. This was just what she needed. Killing always helped soothe her soul, and bring peace to her mind.
She crept onward, over, under, and around vines, hanging branches, and trees, leaving not so much as a hint of her passage behind, save for a few prints in the soft, damp ground. Not that it would do her quarry any good. Not with the wind in her favor. It wasn't long before she'd closed the gap enough to see her prey, carefully making its way among the trees, ears perked and eyes alert. But not alert enough. Not to spot the leopard, at any rate. But, as she crouched, poised, ready to creep forward into striking distance, a small sound broke the silence, and the deer bolted before she could get close enough.
She watched it go, fangs bared in a silent, furious snarl, before she rose and turned to glare at whoever it was who'd sent the deer running. "I hope you have a good reason for interrupting my hunt," she hissed, looking ready to hunt whoever it was instead.
