CIRCE the basics full name • Circe of Aeaea nicknames • Circe Curse Me age • 23 primary standing • Mischievous Sorceress/Enchantress/Singer secondary standing • Potions Master/Medic faction • The Cursed Thorns species • Demigoddess of Magic gender • Female (She/her/hers) sexuality • Straight the appearance origin • Hercules height and weight • 5'5" 110 lbs overall appearance • Circe, the Demigoddess of Magic is well known by many for her physical, enticing beauty. She is of average height, busty, and has tan skin. She has waist-length black hair and enticing blue eyes. She wears a decorative hair clip of a leaf in her hair, wears golden arm bracelets with a matching golden headband, and wears a long red dress. Additionally, she wields a magical sorceress staff with a dragon-shaped head. The staff itself is very durable and therefore cannot be easily broken and the magical staff only works its magic for Circe meaning nobody else can use it. the personality overall personality • While Circe is known by many for her beauty; she is also feared by those who know of her and her ongoing obsessive ruthless quest to capture "the perfect man." Put simply, Circe is a boy crazy, hopeless romantic and will chase any guy that catches her eye. She, however, is extremely picky when it comes to men and has unbelievably high standards. She is not so much into "bad boys" as she very much prefers the nice guys: the kind who are not rude and crude nor will she go out with bums. If for some reason a guy is not interested in her, or if he fails her in some way, or if she just gets bored and grows tired of him she will employ her magical staff and magically transform "the guilty party" into an animal of her choosing to add to her vast menagerie. For her it's the only way to break up with an unwanted ex lover. And besides, as a avid animal lover she just loves to collect animals, so she may keep them safe from anyone who may wish them harm. But because of her boy craziness, Circe is the easily jealous type. As such she tends to be possessive of any man she dates and even of her ex boyfriends turned animals. Since the...unfortunate incident involving Hercules and his friends, Circe is being extra careful with who she invites over to her little island of love and she does not allow anyone to see her lovely menagerie without her present. Circe is no longer taking chances. She already lost one collection. She absolutely refuses to risk losing another. Seductive, mysterious, dangerous, Circe can be described as a party girl type. She is a huge flirt and is more than a little passionate. As an alcoholic, she likes to frequent the local dives in search of a little danger, some rowdy romance, a good drink, as well as a good time with a good guy. While she does crave constant attention from a good man, she also has a short attention span. As such it usually doesn't take too long before she grows tired and bored from a current lover thus dumping him and transforming him into an adorable animal of her choosing is usually what transpires. Circe is only all too aware of her sex appeal and the effect she has on men and is only all too quick to take full advantage of this. She also realizes that men are far more visual than women and enjoys taking advantage of this claiming that "men are too easy." With that said she will no doubt welcome any challenge that a hard to get man may pose. Furthermore, Circe is self-absorbed and manipulative. She has been known to use her looks and charm particularly on men to get what she wants. She is also sneaky, devious, cunning, conniving and sly. And is fun-loving and adventurous almost to the point of recklessness. She is also short-tempered, so one must always be wary around her because if she loses her temper with you she might just transform you into a cute animal and add you to her vast collection of exotic pets. She likes to have fun and will get mad at anyone who dares interrupt her fun even at her own allies. Additionally, Circe is a brutally honest perfectionist who isn't afraid to speak her mind and tell you how it is. She is also two-faced and as such she might tell you one thing while in actuality is thinking something else entirely. For example, if she thinks someone's clothes ugly, rather than tell them such she might instead just smile all innocently and say, "oh wow you are so pretty in that dress. Where did you ever get it?" Then five minutes later she might confide her real opinion of the dress to a trusted friend telling them, "oh my god, that had to have been the ugliest dress I have ever seen!" While not a total germaphobe, she is not a big fan of dirt and of getting dirty and as such will not take too kindly to anyone splashing mud on her. As she is a small time singer, Circe just loves to sing and dance. Despite her less than stellar personality, she really does have a beautiful voice and the fact that her singing is hypnotic certainly helps. Unfortunately, she knows this only all too well causing her to show off. Frustratingly, her hypnotic siren singing seems to only affect men with her fellow females remaining largely immune. Gods are also likely immune to her siren song, but not Demigods since even Hercules fell under her sway. Despite all this, Circe can be nice and even hospitable to visitors of her island. She'll just watch visitors like a hawk, so that they can't steal anything. Not only can she sing and dance with the best of them, but she is also well-versed in herbs and in potion making. With this knowledge she knows how to make all sorts of things from medicine and spices to spells. The potion she is best at, however, is the one that will transform its hapless drinker into an animal. Her abilities and powers will no doubt make her a useful asset to her allies. the history overall history • One day, Circe was born to her parents: Helios, the Titan sun god and to Hecate, the demigoddess of witchcraft and the night in Ancient Greece. She also has two older brothers named, Aeetes and Perses and an older sister, Pasiphae. Not only were Circe's parents powerful, but they were also fabulously wealthy. Her parents, however tended to make the horrible mistake of using material possessions and money in place of actual love. All throughout her young life, her parents argued about how to raise their kids. Helios wanted to teach his children right from wrong and to teach them morals and ethics while Hecate on the other hand, preferred to teach her children the art of deception insisting you have to lie, cheat, and steal to get what you want. As one could only imagine the end result of their contradictory teachings wasn't pretty leaving all four of Helios and Hecate's children equally confused. They weren't sure who to believe and whose will to follow. But since a young age, it was more than a little obvious that Circe took more after her mother due to her own conniving ways. Much to the chagrin of Helios, Circe followed in her mother's footsteps. Circe was a rambunctious wild child who very rarely if ever obeyed her father. Still her father persisted in trying to teach her not only morals, but educational subject related stuff. Her parents did agree on one thing: the importance of a good education. In fact, her parents hired only the best teachers for all four of their children. They wanted nothing but the very best that money could buy for their children. Circe since a young age has constantly been corrected by her wealthy parents and and forced to act how her parents want her to act. They wanted her to act all high classed, well-mannered, polite and proper; which she never really liked since she preferred the company of her lower classed friends. Circe always felt like for the most part that she could just be herself around her friends and relax in their presence since she didn't expect them to ever judge. Still, that doesn't stop her from feeling embarrassed everytime her parents make her act a certain way. All throughout her childhood, Circe's parents had her and her siblings attend fancy private schools and even hired a private tutor. Sure Circe ended up enjoying some classes; Biology, Chemistry, and Horticulture in particular, but many of the other classes bored her. Further, in an attempt to improve her memory. Circe's parents made her read school subject scrolls and they made sure she did it by having her tutor oversee her reading it; which bored her even more. Still, ensuring she had a good education was honestly the most her parents ever did for her since they often left her all alone in the mansion while they go out on business with only the servants for company. In fact, her parents were hardly ever home making Circe feel lonely, isolated and bored. It wasn't long before her boredom and feelings of loneliness and isolation caused her to act out in various destructive, rebellious ways. On a more positive note, it also led her to pursue a hobby to help cope with her boredom. Already having a bit of an interest in herbs, Circe decided to teach herself how to make various potions. It was a clumsy effort at first, but she eventually got the hang of it. Her passion just sort of grew over the years leading her to make potions for just about everyone she knew. Another hobby of hers that she became very passionate about is singing. It is said that Circe was born with a hypnotic singing voice not unlike a siren's; which tends to have a negative effect on mortal men causing them to practically throw themselves at her obeying her every order. It did not take Circe very long to realize the effect her singing had on mortal men and before very long she took advantage of her hypnotic powers. She enjoyed the attention men gave her. In her young mind, if she couldn't get the attention she craved at home then she would get it elsewhere and in this case from men. Then one day as she hit her teen years she started to turn a few heads while she herself started to feel attracted to men. Her parents on the other hand, weren't too pleased with the idea of their youngest growing up and dating, so they tried to keep her away from guys as best as they could. They did this by pulling her out of school and having her taught exclusively by her private tutor and rarely did they let her leave the house. This worked about as well as one could imagine; which is to say not at all. If anything limiting her freedom even more only made the rebellious teen even more disobedient and defiant. After meeting her first boyfriend, Archimedes one day by pure chance; the two were hooked. It was love at first sight. Naturally she wanted to see him again, so she would sneak out of her house while her family was fast asleep just to see him. They would have fun romantic dates just walking near the ocean talking about nothing. It was all so perfect. But perhaps a little too perfect. You see like a lot of teenagers Circe's age, she thought herself invincible, untouchable. She made the mistake of underestimating her parents. She truly believed she would never get caught; which led her to become sloppy. One early morning as she was sneaking back through her bedroom she got caught red-handed by her parents who were understandably very angry at her and not to mention disappointed. Helios, more concerned than angry because he felt like his youngest was headed for trouble or would get hurt demanded Circe break it off with Archimedes. Hecate, however was secretly sympathetic towards her daughter. Circe who had no desire to break up with Archimedes refused her father's wishes forcing Helios to take drastic action. He presented his young daughter with an ultimatum: either she break up with her boyfriend within the next 24 hours or he will take matters into his own hands and smite the poor boy. Circe had no way of knowing whether or not her father was bluffing, but she didn't want to take that chance. Her father's threat enraged her. Still she did not want the one guy she had actual feelings for get hurt and so she reluctantly agreed to break up with her boyfriend. After Helios left the room, Hecate sensing her daughter's growing rage and potential presented her with a gift: a magical staff with a dragon head as the handle. Her mother explains she had planned on giving it to her on her eighteenth birthday, but figured she could really use its help now. She further explains that the staff will now grant her the ability to easily break up with any guy by transforming them into any animal of her choosing. Hecate explains all Circe has to do to transform the guy is to aim the staff at him, imagine the animal she wants him to become, and zap he's now that animal. After Circe voiced her concerns, Hecate assured her daughter that the animal transformation isn't painful and even goes so far as to demonstrate the staff's power on a random mortal man passing by. Hecate then hands her daughter the staff and reminds her that she has less than a day "to make the right decision" before her father smites her poor mortal boyfriend. After he mother leaves, Circe returns the random stranger back to normal on the promise he won't tell anyone anything. With that said, Circe went off to find her beloved with the hopes that he will understand why she has to break up with him and if he does understand than maybe just maybe she won't have to transform him into anything after all. Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as well as Circe planned. She eventually found Archimedes walking along the beach, the very place they had first met. Initially, he was very happy to see her, but then as she explained why she had to break up with him he became upset with her. He didn't believe her story about her father, the Titan sun god coming to smite him if she fails to break up with him and instead saw it as a lame excuse to replace him with a new boyfriend. Further, he accused her of being a low life cheater that was only using him. Hurt by his cruel words she was going to simply walk away and leave him when the guy just wouldn't shut up about her and her family. Infuriated, she turned back around, held up her magical staff, and transformed Archimedes into an owl. She then returned home and informed her parents that she did indeed break up with the guy while failing to mention that she also transformed him into an owl. Her parents were most pleased and pretty soon things went right back to being boring and mundane. Not that it would last for Circe just could not stay single for long. Boldly defying her father for a second time she found herself a new boyfriend, Cole. As before with Archimedes the love she felt for Cole was authentic. She didn't want to lose him for anything and so began her ruse. Unlike before she was a lot more careful with her secret boyfriend this time around. Sadly not careful enough since she ends up getting caught only this time it was all thanks to a rival of hers at school. Apparently her rival just happened to spot Circe and Cole out on a date and knowing that Circe would get into so much trouble ratted her out to her parents. Out of revenge, Circe transformed both her rival and her boyfriend into pigs. Upon learning what all Circe had done, Helios was furious while Hecate couldn't be more proud of their daughter's ruthlessness. Helios felt like Circe had played him for a fool and so he severely punished her for her defiance. First he made Circe transform all of her victims back into humans and then he magically banished her to the mysterious magical island, Aeaea where her father believed she'd be forced to live out the rest of her days all alone. But little did he know at the time just how wrong he was. Initially Helios' plan to punish his daughter to a life of total social isolation for her continued disobedience and for willfully transforming people into animals seemed to have been working for Circe was upset and angry by the mere idea of having to live out the rest of her days all alone with no men to keep her company. But after awhile she decides to at least try to make the best of her situation. After all, at least now she was free from her father's super strict rules and control and not to mention free from her mother's influence. During her exploration of the island, Circe discovered the various plant life that resided on the island; which got her back to potion making. She tested out the different ingredients on the indigenous wildlife there to see what did what and the results were as always fascinating. Still, Circe longed for someone to talk to and for human contact. She did not have to wait long at all to get her wish for one day a group of shipwrecked pig people washed up on her island. Okay, so they weren't exactly human, but hey at least they could talk back and provide her with some company not that she was attracted to any of them. At any rate, Circe welcomed the unusual group to her island and they explained to her that they were on their way to somewhere else when their ship crashed. Finding that interesting, the sly demigoddess struck up a deal with them. She informed them they could stay on her beautiful island and eat whatever food they find on it and all she asks of them in return is their loyalty and service to her. They agree and Circe gained some minions who would later act as her personal bodyguards. Lucky for Circe it did not take much to keep the pig people happy. They liked to roll around in mud during their downtime and Circe's island had plenty of that for them; which kept them happy. Circe herself though wasn't too happy. Sure the island was full of plant life whose seeds and herbs made for wonderful ingredients for potions and with the pig people there she could test her potions on them whenever she liked, but it just wasn't enough. Something was definitely missing in her life or rather someone. As a demigoddess she needed...desired human contact. She decided it was high time she go out and find herself the "perfect" boyfriend and rub it in her father's face. Only question was how could she do it? Sure the island itself was magical and as such always on the move and never staying in any one place for too long, but it wasn't like she could steer it in a specific direction. Really it all came down to luck and so she did the only thing she could do and that was to wait patiently. Although, Circe wasn't one for patience and she despised waiting, she knew that it was only a matter of time before someone new preferably male and human came to her island. Lucky for Circe she did not have to wait too much longer for one day much like the pig people a lone male human sailor wounded up stranded on her beautiful magical island. His name was Samson and Circe being hospitable showed him around her island. Feeling attraction towards the young man she sang to him using her siren voice and pretty soon the poor guy became putty in her hands. Believing him to be the perfect guy and her search at long last over she decided to keep him around. Of course as with all good things it didn't last or at least not nearly as long as she had hoped. As was the case with her first ex, she one day lost her temper with Samson after he made her mad; which resulted in her transforming the poor guy into a wolf. As she liked animals she decided to keep her transformed ex around for company. And so it went for the next couple of years many more unfortunates would wash up onto her island only to find themselves at the mercy of the beautiful and short tempered demigoddess. In the end, every one of these guys would eventually fail in keeping Circe happy and entertained and as such get transformed into animals. One unfortunate young man in particular, Picus, an Italian king found himself stranded on the mysterious island after his ship crashed. Infatuated with him, Circe attempted to seduce him only to be resisted by him. Picus even managed to block out her hypnotic singing. He informed the frustrated Circe that he is married and very much in love with and devoted to his wife and for that he was transformed into a common woodpecker. With so many fallen ex-boyfriends turned into animals, Circe had acquired quite the little menagerie for herself. But of course her ever growing animal collection just wasn't enough. She still longed for human companionship and so one day when she was really bored and lonely her mysterious magical island drifted close by to where Prometheus Academy students were having a fun beach day during their spring break from school. Seeing this as the perfect opportunity for her to land near her next vict er "perfect" boyfriend she wanders over to them and introduces herself. It is there she met Hercules, Icarus, Adonis, and the rest of the male students. She informs them that she is looking for a new boyfriend and seeing how they were all interested in her sings them using her siren voice to get them even more interested. It works and pretty soon the guys literally line up in front of her with each of them taking turns to show off to her. However, her pickiness and unbelievably high standards also bubbled up to the surface. In the end though, she surprises everyone by choosing Icarus who was the very last person anybody would think she'd pick. When questioned by Hercules of why she chose Icarus instead of him, Circe simply responded that she had grown so very tired of good looking guys and that Icarus was different. She commented that Icarus was such a freak in an adorable sort of way and she liked that about him. But that proved to be a mistake and one that nearly led to her downfall. She then takes Icarus to her island of love, but as soon as they arrive she finds she is already tired of Icarus and his annoying, obnoxious, and stupid behavior! She finds that he wasn't just a freak, but a super annoying one! Already driven crazy by him and unable to take much more, Circe transforms the annoying little freak into a platypus and had her pig guards take him to the zoo where she kept all the other poor saps she had transformed into animals. Later that night, the disappointed demigoddess received a rather unexpected visit by Hercules and Adonis with each hoping she would give them a second chance at being her new boyfriend. Hercules also claimed to be there for Icarus. Circe shortly told him it didn't work out between them and asked Hercules and Adonis to prove themselves to her, so she could see if either of them were worthy boyfriend material or not. However, the only thing they could prove was just how annoying they both were in their attempts of showing off to her and so unable to take much more of it, Circe quickly transformed the two into animals. Unaware that their friends, Cassandra and Helen had come to their rescue and were watching the whole thing, Circe had transformed Hercules into a lemur and Adonis into a peacock and sent them to be added to her zoo. Not long afterwards, the animals escaped their cage thanks to Hercules having retained his demigod strength. Enraged by their defiance of her, Circe was just about to hypnotize them when Cassandra surprised her by swinging in her throne room and knocking her down. The two then wrestled over the staff and after getting trapped underneath a statue, Cassandra grabbed her staff and was somehow able to use it to restore all of Circe's exes back to their human forms. She then snapped it in half before returning it to Circe. With her staff now broken, the demigoddess who had come to rely on using her staff for so long to help her break up with guys now does not know what to do. Helen then approaches her explaining that good, healthy relationships are built on compromise. As the group departs, Circe promises to give compromise a try. For awhile, Circe gives compromise a try, but it just didn't work out very well for her. She met a lot of selfish jerks during this time and she just wished she still had her staff so she could just turn them all into animals. But then she remembered that she knew how to make a potion that would do just the trick and all she would have to do was slip it into their drink or food and they would not notice until too late. Still, she missed her staff since it was quicker that way. And so she beseeched her mother one day with the hopes she could fix it or give her a new one. To her happiness her mother came and was able to repair her staff and even made improvements. Hecate made the staff much more durable and as an added bonus made it where Circe alone could wield the staff and all its power. In return, all Circe had to do was repay her mother one day with a favor of her choosing. Circe wasn't sure what this big favor will likely end up being, but she didn't care, so long as she had her staff back. And now she had it back it was time for her to resume her quest to find the "perfect man." However, the next day she woke up and noticed that something was different about her island. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something was definitely different. She noticed that her island had drifted near a very different looking place. Seeing opportunity in new places, Circe headed for shore to check it out and who knows maybe even find herself a new cute guy to show her around. At the time she had no idea a war was going on. Coming across a local tavern, she entered it and true to form she sang to the guys putting them all under her siren spell. Her singing caught the attention of the Thorns and Suns alike and it wasn't long before recruiters of both sides approach her. After they explained the war they each presented Circe with their offer. Feeling very neutral, Circe heard them both out and gave them both equal chances to impress her with their offers. In return of her magical prowess and aid, the Suns promised her money and a place to stay while the Thorns promised her not only a fair payment and place to stay, but they cleverly sweetened the deal by promising her any guy she wants and that they would help her in her quest to find "the perfect boyfriend." Well needless to say that certainly got her attention and with that she accepted the Thorns offer. the Role play sample It was the merging of the worlds and Circe was new to the event. But that hardly mattered. She was ready and more than willing to help her new allies win the war any way possible and if that meant she would need to cheat then she would. One day, she made her way to Nottingham's Snuggly Duckling tavern on Maleficent's orders. She had herself cleverly disguised so nobody would recognize her and because of what she was wearing she doubted anybody would pay her much attention. Normally, that would bug her. Hell normally she wouldn't be caught dead wearing such tacky clothes, but orders were orders and the disguise tacky as it was, was integral to Maleficent's plan. Luckily, Circe didn't need fine clothes to catch a man's attention. When she was ready, Circe slowly made her way to the front of the tavern calmly walking past the chaos of the place. Just the way she walked already turned more than a few heads and now that she had their full attention it was time for the real fun to begin. Once at the front Circe began to sing causing the tavern's male human populace to stop what they were doing and instead were focused on her. As she sang she expertly spun her staff around and danced; which really grabbed the guys attention. The female populace of the tavern were not at all impressed by Circe moreso since their boyfriends left their side just so they could get a closer look at the mysterious new girl with the staff. Naturally, the women were confused and were all wondering what had come over their boyfriends. Further, they insisted their boyfriends were normally very loyal and would never so much as look at another woman and yet here they were for some reason gawking at the beautiful new girl whose singing voice was suspiciously as beautiful as she. It was Maleficent's hope that Circe's hypnotic singing would catch the attention of a high ranking male Suns member and that he would unwittingly tell the demigoddess his army's deepest secrets, their plans, everything that Maleficent could ultimately use against them to win the war once and for all! It was really just too easy! All she had to do was have Circe sing to them and presto they were well on their way to getting juicy Intel on their enemies. Unfortunately, Maleficent hadn't accounted for Circe's sheer obsession with men. Maleficent's plan while brilliant in nature was perhaps a bit premature due to the simple fact Circe was still new and the simple fact that she was so easily distracted by men made her a bit unreliable at times. Luckily for the Thorns, Circe did catch the attention of a Suns soldier alright, but unfortunately it wasn't a high ranking officer and Circe did not seem to care. Indeed, after Circe made her choice she left with the low ranked Enchanted Suns soldier. She asked him to show her around town since she was new. Still, she did not forget the plan and while the soldier showed her around, Circe put on the charm and started asking him all sorts of questions about the Suns army. The ploy worked and the devious demigoddess learned some rather interesting facts about the Suns. When she was done with him Circe left him feeling all confused. What's more he felt woozy and he couldn't remember a thing! This was because before the night was thru, Circe had slipped him an amnesiac potion into his drink to make him forget how he revealed Suns secrets to her. After leaving the poor guy all confused and alone, the sly demigoddess returned to Maleficent with the information she had gained from her easily tricked date. So the evil fairy's plan was not a complete failure and Circe proved competent enough. Good. When asked how she managed Circe smugly told her with an amused laugh and an air of arrogance, "was there ever any doubt? Men are just too easy! Trust me manipulating men isn't difficult. I can get any guy to do whatever I want whenever I want and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it!" Naturally Maleficent saw this as a challenge and the arrogant sorceress' words intrigued her. "Really?" she asked. "Is that a fact?" the role player alias • Mordo age • 33 pronouns • Female (She/Her/Hers) how did you find us? • Bing other characters • Karl |
