(ooc: February 6th, at night. Open to all who would be taking part in the festival.)
Well, if there ever was a night to test how far her learning had taken her, this seemed to be the night. The festival had been going strong for the last few days and while Rebecca knew that mingling among the Thorns was a little dangerous, she wasn't overly worried about herself. She was there to entertain and perhaps draw attention away from any of her fellow Wings that might want to pick at unsuspecting individuals for their funds. So, there she was walking through the crowd with her head held high and her tail swaying behind her. This was it. She just needed to find a nice open spot in the square and...
There! Finally, she spotted a sufficient opening in the crowd. Rebecca seized her chance and bounded through the opening, letting the moonlight wash over her as she exited the shadows. She gave an audible bark to draw attention to herself further. Once she was sure all eyes were on her, she closed her eyes for a beat and composed herself. The music of the festival surrounded her. Then, she pushed herself onto her hind paws and put what Marian and the others had taught her into practice. Perhaps it was a little clumsy at the start. After all, she was finding her balance even then. Still, she seemed to be managing all right. The performance had begun, and she was hoping that no one really was willing to take their eyes off her.
A daring maneuver followed. She spun around in a little circle, maintaining balance with her front paws held out in front of her, and once the circle was completed she kicked one of hind paws into the air for a brief moment. Rebecca let a soft gasp escape her after that. Her balance felt off, so she flailed her front paws out a bit to right herself. It didn't quite work, but somehow she managed to save her performance by twisting herself around a bit. Front paws touched the cobblestone beneath her. It wasn't the end, though. Rebecca refused to let it be.
Her heart pounded faster as she decided to try something else. She hadn't had much practice on standing on just her front paws, but it couldn't hurt to try. So, she did just that. She hoisted her hind legs into the air and did her best to balance. A big smile danced on her face when she felt like she got the hang of it. She was doing it! For as simple as the act was, she was performing what was essentially a hand stand.
Did the crowd appreciate her efforts, though? That was the question. She wanted to keep dancing. Keep on dancing, and never stop.
