"No, no no no, this won't do," Shen muttered as he strode along the crumbling battlements of the ancient keep, gazing out over the surrounding terrain with an appraising eye. Behind him, several wolves and a couple gorillas wheeled a cannon, taking care not to get too close to the edge of the castle walls. There were only so many ways an enemy army could approach the castle if they intended to approach the gatehouse, but still, Shen intended to place his weapons with optimum efficiency.
Was it likely that anybody would dare risk an assault on this castle? Honestly? Shen suspected it was only a matter of time. It wasn't smart, but having grown up with tales of Kung Fu masters who did things that weren't smart by all appearances, yet managed to succeed against long odds, he wasn't going to trust to fate. And since the battlements of Maleficent's castle provided an unrivaled vantage point, perched atop a mountain as it was, that made it a perfect choice for a couple of his cannons.
Provided he could get them positioned. After a few more moments, he spotted a lower balcony, and spent a few moments gazing down at it before dropping down to perch on its rampart, gazing around as he considered it. "Yes, this will do perfectly," he mused softly before flying back to the upper ramparts. "Down there will do perfectly. Now take care you don't drop it!" he ordered, pointing down to the balcony, drawing some muted groans of dismay at the strenuous task that awaited them.
Under Shen's watchful eye, they dismantled the cannon's carriage so the whole thing could be lowered piece by piece, then reassembled. it was simply too big, and too unwieldy, to fit through the small door leading out from below, and it had been hard enough for them to get it up here in the first place. Maybe it wouldn't gone quicker if he'd conscripted Maleficent's numerous little goons to his work force, but he didn't trust the stupid little things. And he wasn't about to risk them losing control of the cannon and sending it tumbling down the mountainside.
