(ooc: Closed to Simba and Kopa)
Finally. Finally, finally, Kopa had the chance he had been hoping for. He'd been hoping to catch Simba when his father wasn't busy with Kiara, or talking with his grandfather about this or that, and after waiting around long enough he finally could see just the chance he'd looked for. No Kiara with her princess lessons, no Kion being focused on for the mysterious 'guard' Kopa had heard whispers about, just... his father. Making rounds, from the looks of it, through the general areas of the forest. That seemed like it would be Bambi or the Great Prince's job, but Kopa wasn't complaining. He had to take this chance and make it count.
"Okay, Kopa, you can do this," he murmured. At present, the creamy cub was hidden as best as he could manage in some foliage. His body felt a little stiff from both his chores he'd done earlier and the fact that he'd been there a while, but he pushed past it. A slow breath of air was taken before he made his way into the open and started to bound forward.
"Dad!" Kopa called to him. He hoped this wasn't a bad time. It sure hadn't looked like one, but one never could know for sure until plans came together. A few more quick paces were taken forward before Kopa came to a stop. The young cub looked up at Simba, and a moment was taken to marvel at his father's golden pelt. Every inch of him radiated royalty. In a way, it was something Kopa was a little envious of. The thought was pushed away, though, and he remembered what he was there for long enough to keep going. Still, as he looked at his father, a bit of that bold desire shifted away.
"Dad," Kopa said again, a little softer this time. His head was tucked downward just for a moment as his tail swished behind him in slow, gentle movements. "I finished the chores I needed to do for the morning, so... I was hoping we could talk for a little while? I could help you keep an eye on things in the forest, too, while we talk. If you want." He hoped maybe that made him sound responsible. Not that Kopa had responsibilities he needed to worry about. As the youngest, it seemed his plate wasn't quite as full as Kiara's or even Kion's. He still wanted to try, though. Kopa had to at least do that much while he was around his father. Not every day was going to be about sneaking away with his best friend and playing with his older siblings, after all.
It was time to step up. Time to, in Kopa's eyes, do something that might make his dad proud of him for just a moment. Maybe it was silly to think that way, but he did wonder from time to time. Was Simba even proud of him? At all?
The thought made Kopa's posture slacken a little. His gaze drifted to the grassy ground beneath him as he instinctively started to knead a bit. If nothing else, the action was comforting. He already could feel a bit of the tension he'd made for himself slipping away.
