((Eris and Bellwether and then afterwards anyone can join who wants to tangle in this! c:))
Dusk was always a tantalizing time. The threats of night overcasting the terrain with its monstrous grips and shadows stretching far beyond the reaches of their structures. It was even more enjoyable with the massive crooked towers of the black keep, its outer stone walls dripping with the remainders of a cloudburst earlier that evening. Across the horizon where the sun inched further towards the ends of the earth was a deeply pink hue, the last beautiful rays of light to grace this day before night set in. First a deep comforting blue, and eventually would come the pitch black night with not a star in sight from the lingering clouds above still threatening to storm.
The humid air brought an odd somberness even to these haunting structures perched above Paris. Yet no one here was fool enough to believe it a content calm. No one in their right mind, anyways, and that was what the Goddess loved most about these wicked beings that took up ownership of the region. Like a wraith her gaze shuddered into existence upon the dark shedding shingles of the peak of the utmost tower. Eris slid into existence where there was seemingly nothing before, gliding like a haze of smoke to the edge of the rooftop where a stone statue stood delicately. A stone bird, a raven, with hauntingly dark eyes and beak that at times dripped an unnaturally black substance. Far from the eyes of the common folks below, this was a well treasured secret. The Goddess smirked, tilting her head as she propped her chin upon her laced fingers.
”Always were such a pretty bird.” she cooed at the being, extending one of her delicate hands to caress the side of its small head and down its stony feathered wing. It was unclear if he’d remember their fleeting encounters, she’d visited him on more than one occasion now. Eris, however, deeply hoped that he would with the deepest most sadistic inner workings of her nature.
”Don’t worry, I have no intentions to keep you away forever. What fun would that be?”” she wrinkled her nose, as if they were sharing a joke, before sliding head first from the edge of the roof and her shadowy silhouette plummeted. In the next moment before colliding with anything below she vanished altogether with a sharp snap.
While she enjoyed visiting the mistress’s pet there were more interesting beings to speak with inside the keep. The small hooved creature was unassuming but was the perfect ally in Eris’ perpetual quest for chaos. Whether she knew it or not, but what Eris had offered Bellwether had been a once in a lifetime opportunity. As were nearly all of the offers Eris extended. But there was always a price, and no doubt Bellwether would some day come to pay it. The Goddess would find her in one of the main halls, a pile of papers in her hooved mits clutched tightly to her chest. No doubt pleasantly organizing the disasters she planned to commit to the world. Such a diligent little agent.
”My~” the Goddess hummed her arrival, an echo of her sultry voice through the stone surfaces of the castle room that reverbated down each adjacent hall. The goddess slid forth from the shadow in the far corner, stretching her arms into existence and shedding the shadowy cloak like silk. Although there were no legs to speak of her body swayed as if gliding through unseen waters, giving a slow twirl as she circled the diabolical little sheep.
”You’ve certainly been a busy little mammal, haven’t you?” Eris sing-songed in the most adoring tone. Yet as always, there was a wickedness that made it impossible to feel at ease in the Goddess’ presence. Perhaps it was the unliving blue tone of her skin, or the red glow of her haunting gaze. The inky black hair that flowed down her shoulders spiralled as if suspending in water like the rest of her. Whatever the case, she was the most unnatural yet tantalizing of beings, and she wore it like the ancient being that she was.
