(Set before Kneel in Pieces. Closed to just Kris and Dr. Tiffany Quickwell for now, might open to other Zootopian Thorns later.)
"And would you believe it? The guy had the nerve to call me and was like 'Hey, Kris. You know the girl that I like more than you? She wants you to be one of the bride's maids at the wedding, what do you think?' And so I said 'Why don't you take your sharpest protractor and gauge my eyes out instead?' I mean, can you believe that guy? I'm miles away and living my best life, and he suddenly thinks it's a good idea to call me? What did I ever see in that idiot?"
Green eyes were rolled as she finished speaking. There wasn't much for her or Tiff to do in the way of medical duties that day, so she had thought spending time with her best friend was the next best possible option. They had been working together as Thorns for a bit by then, but going over everything on record for the Thorns had taken priority. That and making sure Tiffany's impulse control was, in fact, in control. The day was theirs, and Kris had decided it was the best time to get her friend caught up on all she'd missed. Mostly it was the petty things, but that was what they were friends for. They listened to each other vent about such things. Kris had missed it like nothing else.
"It's not too petty of me to say I wanted to find where they're planning to have the wedding and set fire to the place, right? I didn't actually do it. Though I did think about taking the bride's bouquet..." Her whiskers twitched in mild amusement. As long as she was owning up to such things, she might as well be honest. It wasn't like anyone would do anything to her or Tiffany while they were out and about Paris. The Parisians seemed to know better than to mess with a Thorn, after all.
"I missed this," she confessed. "Just having you to talk to. I didn't have anyone else who'd care enough to listen back at Sahara Square. By the way... you should've seen everyone's faces when I quit." She glanced up at the cheetah walking beside her. She hadn't really touched on that much since they'd become Thorns together.
"They all thought I was crazy for wanting to leave after you got fired. But you know what? Screw 'em, right? If they think badly of me now, then who cares?"
