Tripod (on the right, the Dalmatian) the basics full name • Tripod nicknames • ...basically any other name that references his missing limb. He's used to them all by now. age • One-and-a-bit years primary standing • Soldier secondary standing • Battlefield courier faction • Enchanted Suns species • Dog, Dalmatian gender • M sexuality • *shrug* the appearance origin • 101 Dalmatians: the Series height and weight • 22' / 48 lbs overall appearance • An athletically-built Dalmatian, Tripod is a little bulkier, a little more well-muscled than most of his adoptive family; he works out a lot, and it shows. He has blue eyes, almost triangular features, and scruffy 'hair' atop his head, held back by a teal-coloured headband. He wears a red collar, adorned smartly with his Bark Brigade rank insignia. Oh, and his most distinctive feature is the fact that he has just three limbs: due to a birth defect, he has no front-left leg. the personality overall personality • Tripod is, in many ways, the ideal working dog. Athletic, committed, and hard-working; as a pup, he was consistently top of his Bark Brigade class, and as an adult he brings that same dedication to everything he does. Never one to leave a job half-done, Tripod is known for his integrity even by the non-canine inhabitants of the farm: loyal, brave, and (except in extreme circumstances) honest. Of course, no dog is perfect, and Tripod is no exception. He can tend to get carried away, whether in play or work, and can be just a little smug when he feels like he's on top. He is also competitive to a fault; a trait that, more than anything, springs from a powerful determination to prove that having three legs doesn't make him any less of a dog. the history overall history • Amongst his birth siblings, the most popular puppy Tripod was not. Born in a pet shop in London, the puppy was marked right from birth with the significant defect of having one entire front leg missing. While his mother coddled him when she was able, behind her back Tripod’s siblings often jeered at ‘old three-leg’, who no human would ever dream of adopting when they could have perfect specimens – such as themselves. The taunting didn’t get much better when they reached the age to be separated from their mother, and were put out on the shop floor to be sold. Sure enough, the other pups’ predictions came true. Within days, they had all been taken off to loving homes, leaving Tripod all alone; it seemed they were right, that no-one wanted a defective puppy. It was about that time that Tripod decided he ought to take matters into his own paws. He became determined – some might say obsessed – with proving that he was just as much a dog as his siblings were; hour after hour would find him working his body in every way he could, from running laps around his cage to doing push-ups with whatever he could find. After a few weeks, his work seemed to pay off, as a strange lady entered the shop, took one look at him, and brought him right then and there. Tripod’s thought that she might have seen some worth in him lasted only as long as it took him to realise that he wasn’t being taken home as a pet, or even put to a working dog's task; he was instead dumped in an old house with a mass of other Dalmatians. Feeling dejected, and scared that he’d be laughed at for his lack of leg again, Tripod made no attempt to mingle and kept to himself. It was only after the ninety-nine of them had been rescued by Pongo and Perdita, and brought back to their home in London, that Tripod began to realise that maybe he’d misjudged this particular group. Most of the pups he chanced to hang out with seemed to think his missing limb was ‘cool’; and even when they heard it was a birth defect rather than something he’d lost in a heroic adventure, few were discouraged. Too, the human Roger took a liking to him and, given a name that cast his three legs in a positive light, Tripod quickly became much more sure of himself. By the time the family moved to the farm, his insecurities seemed to have almost melted away, revealing the confident pup beneath. Becoming a cadet of the local Bark Brigade, Tripod quickly became Lieutenant Pug's favourite, establishing himself as a capable and trustworthy cadet. While sometime rival Lucky and his friends were off on adventures, Tripod stuck around the farm, working hard in the Brigade; and was awarded the rank of Cadet Captain. While Tripod wasn't one to brag over-much, he was proud beyond words of this achievement. When the worlds merged, and rumours of war started floating around, Tripod at first remained on the farm. He wasn't one to run off looking for adventure; rather, he would wait for Lieutenant Pug or the Colonel to brief him on what the Bark Brigade's stance was to be on the matter. The Bark Brigade's stance, at least as far as the Colonel was concerned, turned out to be that Tripod himself should head out to the war too; to follow his adoptive siblings and keep an eye on them, to make sure that they stayed safe. They too, of course, were all adults in their own right; but some of them were not known for being responsible, even so. Tripod immediately followed orders and headed out to Arendelle. The Bark Brigade amounting to not much more than a canine Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, his earned rank held no weight there; still, Tripod accepted his position as a standard soldier in the Enchanted Suns' force. the Role play sample the role player alias • Cheetah age • 28 pronouns • Male other characters • Mulan, Cody, Shenzi, Amelia, Experiment 624, Sunray, Judy, Dr. Facilier, Tiifu, Angry, Faline, Berlioz, Dogo, Karmi, Vixey, Neera, Kerchak |
