(ooc: January 14th, around sunset. Open to just to Sunray and myself.)
While it undoubtedly would have been better for Orchid to stick close to Enchanted Suns territory, she'd wanted to get out and explore a little bit while she had the chance. The world was big and while it was dangerous, she liked the idea of potentially meeting new faces. There also was a chance she might see a familiar face. As the days had passed, Orchid had become aware of the potential for Sunray to worry about her. What if he had come out into the war to come looking for her? Surely he wouldn't. He could be reckless, sure, but surely he wouldn't throw himself into a war just for her sake. That was what she'd tried to reason with herself for a time. That day, though, the thought wouldn't leave her alone. She couldn't stop wondering if maybe he had followed her.
Ultimately, the unicorn gave her head a vigorous shake and continued to trot through the Enchanted Forest. The place almost reminded her of home in a way. Sure it wasn't the exact same as their valley, but it held a certain peacefulness. As she slowed to a walk and took a chance to look around, she found herself entranced by the forest's surroundings. She even caught a glimpse of her own reflection in a nearby stream. That was what made her really stop and relax for a bit. The light of the setting sun glimmered against the trickling stream, and a soft smile tugged at her lips.
What am I worried about? Sunray can take care of himself, Orchid told herself. Even so, as she thought about it she did find herself worrying a little. What if he had followed her and he'd gotten himself lost? Pegasi were good at navigating, she knew, but what if? What if he was hurt, or scared somewhere and worrying about her? What if he'd plucked out those beautiful wing feathers in his anxiety? What if...?
Again, Orchid shook her head. She decided to just run a hoof against the water and let her worries drift away again. If Sunray was out there, then fate would bring them together again. It had brought them together to start, so why not a second time? That was a little bit of a comfort, as was the sunset lighting all around her. It was just a thought, she told herself, and it would be okay.
Even if he wasn't there.
