(ooc: January 13th, mid-afternoon, in the heart of the forest. Open to all, but any kiddos who want to play are especially welcome!)
Well, Nia could safely say that things had been looking up since she'd met Iseult. She had the protection of a lioness who actually seemed to care about her, and much better resources when it came to getting food on top of that. So why had she wandered away? Well, the primary reason Nia could think of was that she wanted to explore. The world had gotten so much bigger and she wanted to know what was out there while she had the chance. So, when she was sure Iseult wouldn't quite miss her, the cub made her way into the wild and started to make her way around. Her travels had led her to the Enchanted Forest, and when she'd gotten there Nia found herself overtaken by the awe of the greens and vibrancy around her. Everything was so lush! She could only imagine what she'd find there.
The first thing she saw when she finally was over the colors and pristine nature of everything was a butterfly. For the first time in ages, Nia allowed herself to laugh and scrambled after the colorful thing. Bits of dirt and grass went into the air as she ran and scrambled forward. There wasn't much point to a butterfly hunt apart from the fun of it. Even if there was a point to catching it, though, Nia wouldn't have cared. She just wanted to play while she had a chance.
"Rah!" Nia exclaimed as she made her jump. The butterfly was quick, though, and it fluttered out of the way in time for her to land in the grass. This was a much softer environment, so Nia didn't even complain when she hit the ground. Instead, Nia rolled over onto her back and laughed.
"I love it here!" Nia declared. "How come I never knew this was here before?" Probably because before that day, Nia had been more focused on survival than anything else. What did it matter, though? Here she was safe and secure for the time being. That was all she could have asked for.
Still... she did feel a bit lonely, Nia admitted to herself. What point was there in a grand place to play without people to play with?
