The things Lorelei would do for simple curiosity. Normally when she was ordered to do something, she would refuse, or agree but generally just...not do it. She was not one for orders and authority, after all. Any orders she took tended to be following her own will, a vein of curiosity. That, or knowing that some creatures in this army were safer when obeyed. Of course, considering the kind of orders she got around here...generally whatever they wanted was done simply because it benefited her in turn. If she never did anything for this army, after all, life in Paris would be terribly boring.
Yet to be an assistant? Lorelei would have told them to get stuffed if she was not already bored out of her mind and looking for something to do. She could have found some mischief, sure, but an offer that piqued her curiosity just happened to be dropped on her just at the right moment. Help some inventor guy with whatever he happened to be inventing. Honestly, she was just curious about what exactly it was he needed help with. If he had some fun chaos causing inventions...perhaps she could borrow one. Whether or not she got permission to borrow one, of course, was irrelevant to her.
So, she followed the directions she had been given toward one of the buildings near the cathedral, and made her way inside. Whether or not she would be interrupting him, she failed to care. Instead, Lorelei simply made her way over to the workshop. The door was slightly open, anyway, and he had requested an assistant. Of course, there was the minor detail of him likely expecting a human assistant, rather than a cat. However, it was habit that caused her to slip into the form of a green eyed, chocolate furred feline when she made her way here.
With perfectly feline curiosity, Lorelei used a paw to gently push the door further open, before peeking her head and shoulders in to survey the room. Aiming not to be spotted, the small feline prowled her way across the room, before returning to her human form in time to lean casually against a wall opposite the door, head tilting slightly as she observed the boy. He looked around her age, a bit younger perhaps - or not, depending how right people had been in guessing how old she was when they found her.
"Quindi, Ragazzo della Scienza," she began, finally announcing her presence in smooth Italian. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Lorelei figured seeing it was him who requested an assistant, she would not need to spell out her purpose for being there. At least, she assumed it was him. The likelihood of finding some other scrawny teenager matching the description in the lab she had been directed to was pretty slim. Still, the hope remained that she confused or at least startled him all the same.
