(ooc: January 7th, in the town square within Corona. Mid-afternoon. Open to all!)
In favor of keeping up the lie she'd spun to Hans and Sitron, Rebecca had taken to practicing. What, exactly? Why, the art of dancing. The sight of a young dalmatian hopping and twirling around the square must have been particularly strange, because she was aware she'd garnered a couple of stares, but Rebecca didn't care. Her ears and bandanna flapped in the wind generated from her motions and a little smile formed on her face. The littlest Gilded Wing certainly wasn't about to regret the decisions she'd made. There was no doubt in her mind that she should have been offering a paw to help her fellow fledglings with chores, but right then? She had to keep up appearances.
As she aimed to complete the twirl she'd attempted in front of Hans just a couple of days before, she miscalculated again and fell onto the cobblestone beneath her. The wind escaped through her open maw and she was left grimacing slightly. Despite the temporary pain, Rebecca pushed herself to her paws and gave herself a shake.
"Come on, lass," Rebecca chided herself. "You can do this. You're goin' to be the best dancer the Snuggly Duckling's ever seen!" Her tail was raised up like a tiny flag as her confidence resumed. Then, she got back to trying to stand on her hind paws and made another attempt at that twirl. This time she kept her front paws held up to try and balance herself. In the end, though, she still went off balance and landed on the ground beneath her.
"Och. There's got tae be somethin' I'm missing here," she said, giving herself another shake. This time the shake led to one of her ears flopping upward and draping overtop of her head. She paid it little mind, though, and resumed focus to what was happening around her. It seemed the merchants had lost interest and went on with their duties. Good enough for her.
"Too bad there's nae anyone here ta help," she said. "I wouldnae mind the company." That said, she did get herself ready to start one more time. As she started to spin herself in another circle, making it look as though she was just chasing her tail, she inadvertently could have headed toward bumping in to someone. Whether she did or not was all up to fate by then, and she didn't mind it.
