The noises of the attack were unnatural, unlike anything she’d ever imagined until it was right before her and she had nothing left to do but stare at the fray, right in the face. Bodies were tangling with one another, animals were making such terrible noises she’d forgotten they could make since the worlds had merged and nearly all of them began speaking. And Rapunzel was doing her best to remain shielded from it all, lily green eyes wide as she had come into the chaos when the damage had already been done. It was the flash of red hair that caught Rapunzels’ eye at last, the familiar sight of Giselle among the madness.
It felt surreal, to see the other dainty woman dashing along to the aid of someone amidst all of this, Rapunzel hadn’t even stopped to consider how she herself might have looked. Leaning over she quickly bunched a handful of her pink skirt within her fingers, hiking it up to her knees and bundling it so she could run after Giselle without tripping up. Her blonde hair a trail of golden braids with flowers woven into it. The delicate ensemble caught on some debris from the wreckage of the villain a moment, snagging her while Giselle ran onward without her, unaware, and she was left to tug the braid loose from its tight artistry. Rapunzel gasped, taking only a moment to lag behind as she freed herself from the momentary delay and she was off again, the partly undone braid in one arm and a fist of her dress in the other.
The determined frown upon her face faltered as she came upon the scene, just as the Hun had departed and Giselle approached the giant ruby heap of the scaled beast in the center. There had been dragons out and about in the world, Rapunzel knew that, but she’d never seen one so… vulnerable. Her blood looked nearly black against her already crimson glimmering body. Rapunzel could hardly take her eyes from the thing, only to glance at Giselle’s back as she timidly approached herself while catching the tail end of what she had to say.
”Oh… Giselle…” she murmured, coming to her side. Rapunzel released her hair, some strands falling loosely from the braid that was gradually coming undone. A few delicate flowers had fallen in her wake, leaving a small path for those observant enough to look for it. Rapunzel hovered a hand over the surface of the beasts scales, glancing to Giselle and her makeshift sling around the mangled wing and following the thin shred of fabric to the heart of the wounds. Rapunzel fluttered to her knees, her skirt draping along the cobblestones she ran a hand smoothly along the snout of the dragon and up the top of her head. When she touched the first set of spikes she removed her hand, withdrawing to curl it over her chest before looking to Giselle with worried eyes.
”Giselle, I don’t know…” Rapunzel trailed off slowly.
